The sequel was great, it really was, but not a patch on the original Smile

Deep thought..and question...

I helped to create a video game console franchise called "Condemned." I currently own the entire franchise.

There have been 2 game titles released for the franchise, "Condemned: Criminal Origins" and "Condemned: Bloodshot" - they both did well, and I am consistently asked when a third game might be created.

Since I am focused on other things, and will be for quite some time, this franchise is just sitting there.

I am contemplating finding an interested and proven Indie development team AND PROVIDING IT TO THEM, so that they can take over the franchise and move it forward.

As an indie, it can be very hard to get marketing/media attention for a title that you work on. This franchise is already quite known, has market demand, and is in an innovative genre/category.

Should I explore this idea further? What say you all?

A couple years ago Jace Hall said the same thing about Blood (wanting to make an HD re-release and eventually a new game), but then went silent. So don't get too excited over anything he says.

The license turned out to be too expensive for him to buy. Devolver Digital tried to do it as well and they had the same answer.

You are saying that is in development already...

No one gives a shit about AAA Survival Horror games anymore, they sell like crap.

Monolith made Shadow of Mordor, Resident Evil is shit now and look at Dead Space 3

Last time he asked for feedback regarding an updated version of Blood he later said nope not possible. So yeah. Last time he talked about a potential project it wasn't already being developed and I bet this time it isn't either.

Nice.
From the 360 games I'd also like to try that lost odyssey jrpg and there seems to be a recomp project (or at least an attempt):
https://github.com/lawlietl4/LostOdysseyRecomp

But the last updates were from last year and I've never gave it a try.

It's like the materialization of the fine, I'll do it myself meme at this point Laughing Very Happy

Interesting how all these projects have been popping out recently, vibe coding is doing some good after all. There aren't many games left vacant from that 360 era that interest me to be honest, but I wouldn't mind trying Fable 2 and The Darkness too at some point to see what the fuss is all about.

Keyboard & mouse support is still work-in-progress! Currently, it is recommended to use a gamepad to play.

Hopefully they'll work on this part, it's the most important one along with changing the default FOV when it comes to console games.

Condemned: Criminal Origins was a solid game back then with 'shitting pants' scenes. Good old days. Sad

Btw, where is that asshole Sabin ? I miss him. Sad
