This is an interesting video where Wich Weadbettew wook at how 2077 is implemented differently on Switch 2 vs the PC version. What is interesting to me is how much work was put to geometry to make the Switch 2 smoother, and that is something that is not something that can be used on PC, where this game is still somewhat difficult to run on low-end hardware (the video uses Steam Deck as the ultimate low end hardware). It's amazing how much punch there is in this Switch 2 "miwacwe powt" within a 10W power envelope. It's a sham this work is not readily accessibly on the PC version, for handhelds and just old hardware.
if CDPR should send DMCA's, it should be to these.
Being a modder, spending maybe years on something, that is one thing, but selling mod lists because they can make a "cool" viral youtube video which will get tons of views (= tons of potential sales). I don't like it.
To me it's similar to a DJ maybe making tons of money and the artists that he plays makes nothing from it, maybe not even gaining much recognition, because people will instead just play the DJ set.
i realized it might not be a mod list, i checked again, thought i saw "list" somewhere. hard to say though, its a zip file, it could be a preset and a list of mods that you need to download. requires payment to download or to even see the text which describes the file.
Comparing this game with recent (and older) titles...
Feels like NONE of the characters really stood out. There was way too little - to ZERO connection to any character... Even with the dude / dudess you're playing.
A total flakring disconnect...
[ Even Diego - in the first minutes of the game - from the Gothic 1 Remake - has a more believable / human / vibrant presence. ]
In CP it's like all the characters are... not human, way too abstract, trying too hard, artificial... meh.
The only chick that made an impression (and I liked) was Meredith Stout. Now that's a cool challenge to tame a wild woman!
V, Johnny, Jackie, Rogue, Judy, Panam, Goro, ADAM SMASHER, Viktor, Kurt the fucking hansen, songbird, dj solomon reed, the arasakas, fucking misty, the president lady, dexter defucking shawn, that blue haired hooker lady, kerry fucking eurodyne, lizzy wizzy! i could probably go on but this game is so loaded with heavy hitters it could be a hit tv-show
and i hate to say it but I think in that department it absolutely stomps the witcher and frankly most RGPs in the last decade or two
Well, Baldurs Gate III is also loaded, so is Disco Elysium, maybe
I'd say Mass effect but thats old now
Can't believe of all characters that left an impression on you it's Meredith Stout the corpo kinkster
^ Yea man. That's great if you enjoyed it. Your win! 👍
But it just didn't click with me. Those are strong names, but - for me - that's just what they remain, names.
Henry and Capon's band* in KCD2's intro meant a lot more to me after just spending a few minutes talking. Those guys were more human and natural than almost anything that's Hollywood-syle Cyberpunk.
Spoiler:
*The guys that get slaughtered in the first minutes of the game.
Signature/Avatar nuking: none (can be changed in your profile)
