I did play and enjoy it very much.
One of the best WH40K games out there, the atmospehere is really great thanks to sound design and music.
If you like xcom's tactical combat you should definitely try this. I had only one gripe - lack of variety in terms of level design, necron tombs get a little bit stale after a while. I hope for a more varied sequel.
All in all 8/10. It's worth a buy IMO.
Something went really wrong in the development of this game.
They made it so linear. There's no more Darkest Dungeons style exploration, everything is railed and you are just prompted to make a choice after every automatic step.
The inventory was pretty much removed, you have some abilities instead and I read that later on you get 1-2 items. There's no research or anything, just a standard straightforward abilities tree.
Your team has only one named character who comes with their own retinue of units.
The combat is tactical and quite unforgiving on the higher difficulties, but there's a lack of choices that takes away from the experience.
I'm still early in the necron's campaign, but I doubt the game will open up more later on.
