Latest episode was reeeeally slow, but damn, Sam Claflin is doing a terrific job at making his character so charmingly hateable, really great performance.
Apparently S6 is going to be the final season and will feature an awesome female antagonist. Hopefully not Anya Taylor-Joy, she can be a great performer, but her character in this show isn't that interesting IMO.

Fuck her. She doesn't fit in the show at all in S5. All her scenes feel forced.

All she does is try Mike to take over the opium business but then again whole enterprise is just small take.
Just finished watching S06 last night, and it was such a fucking bore for the most part. Also, lots and lots of questions left hanging in the air. I felt like the quality of the series started declining around S05, but this season was quite worthless. I mean, even Hardy's role was piss poor in this one. Loved the first few seasons, though, and will watch the film at the weekend, just to see if there is some sort of closure.
if you think S6 is bad don't even touch the movie. I binged the show recently and the movie felt like someone taking a big fat stinky diarrhea poop all over the entire franchise.
tried to watch this show many times over the years since it got big praises but always gave up, after i saw they were gonna do a movie i decided to try it one more time
managed to finish it and while it did had its moments i dont think it deserves some of the praises i saw, the quality really declined with each season and the writing is not that good to begin with, just too many unbelievable moments throughout the show, arcs abandoned, stuff happen off screen, no character growth, motives changed to fit the story, repeating story bits etc
yes cillian murphy is great, the acting is great in general, sam neil was the standout in the first 2 seasons, tom hardy, sam claflin as mosley, also the cinematography.
i also think seasons 5 and 6 are better than wat people say, the budged increased, was more slower but better directed, and mosley was finally a villian he couldnt defeat and the ending was built nicely to finish with the movie so imagine my surprise when the movie went a different route and ignored everything.
the movie wasnt bad but has a plot not worth for a series ending, rushed, and looking at how fast the news came that they are doing a spinoff it just feels like the movie was done so they can do that.
