I think what this game makes it good even some things are really bad like double-jump/glide or the gfx sometimes bugging out is that they cramped so much into it and dont explain it that you either look it up or grinds your gears till you get the "duh" moment.

You can do all sorts of shits like exploring, farming, stealing, grinding and so on that you never get bored, you are not for fighting right now - no prob, you do something else but never feel overwhelmed.

In the beginning i thought i missed much as i thought the tutorial is long done but turns out you still unlock new shit even after chapter 8. I struggled alot on the way as i tried content not supposed to be done now. This on top of all the other stuff makes it more of a learning experience rather than being handhold all the time where the tutorial is one chapter and then you can rush to the end boss - not happening here.

Even with the flaws it has i think its a solid 9 because the world is beautiful crafted with nice traversal and tons of stuff you can do but also have other means to fullfill your needs like sending out mates to gather stuff than stealing yourself.

Or you remember that there is an Abyss and spend multiple hours solving puzzles.

Do you enjoy the abyss then??

The abyss sucks, the only good part is the view down. The puzzles are the worst in gaming history. The sole challenge is figuring out the controls and what you are supposed to do in the first place.

Yes, I did enjoy the Abyss. I've finish this first one you start at the beginning of the game and then the one you are introduced in chapter 4 to get elemental skills and got to the "fire" one for now (only lightnings seems to be left for me). Some are crazy annoying, but if you have your stats and skills up a little bit, you can at least skip a lot of bs parkour parts.

The puzzles are rather simple, just require to run back on forth a lot which tend to be frustrating but when I get to the solution I get good endorfin rush.

And having Abyss unlocked allows you to travel to the part of maps you haven't visited before so that is a nice bonus. I was in a kind of flow so I've enjoyed it a lot after like a day of only grinding the camp, great change of pace Smile

If you don't enjoy it now, maybe come back to it later with a different mindset or just use YT guides to go thorough puzzles quickly.

Small hint, in the abyss if you fall down youi can use your axiom power hand to grapple the air and hold onto nothing, then press start/escape and you spawn back on top of the platform.

I'm never gonna enjoy it. The puzzles are poor quality and the devs lack creativity. It's the same mechanic all over and the only difficulty comes from the fact that it is often just unclear what you are supposed to do. It just feels like a grind.

Compared to the puzzles from the modern Zelda games for instance this is a complete joke.

Anyway, I'm going to hold on this one. It seems that they are dedicated to fix it / improve it, so it is worth to wait and see.

3 things that bother me about this game that spring to mind.

Repetitive dialogue for random NPCs.
Double jumping rarely works.
Knocking NPCs over that were at least 10 feet away lol

Well, I don't regret buying this.

It's an excellent walking-around-and-taking-in-cool-fantasy-landscapes simulator.

Sometimes, just Being There® is enough.

double jump works every time, it's just not a simple double tap like other games. it's only activated when you're about to touch the ground after your first jump and there isn't something to climb. I use it a lot but you need clearance.

So I cleared my inventory and set out to look for iron and copper deposits to upgrade my armor and finally start playing the game 'seriously'.

What I end up doing instead:

- cut grass
- climb to a tree and pick up apples
- mawashi geri destroying barrels and wood crates
- chased, shot and skinned some naughty small deer that wrecks havoc in the crops of people
- read journal entries
- looked for fast travel point at Hernand Castle (and didn't bloody find it)
- carried arround some jars for no purpose at all
- tried to catch some birds stealthily on roofs around Hernand Castle with no luck
- sit on the edge of roofs
- sit on the edge of some cliffs nearby
- lean on wall 1
- lean on wall 2
- NOT finding my upgrade materials

This game, man... Laughing

Glad I bought this instead of Resident Grace.

You need the drill thing i think you get it from a quarry. It has a stat that gives you bigger chance to get more coal when you destroy.

Yeah saw it in a video shortly after, you grind some more miners for cheap refinement to 5 or 6. I really think about starting over with all the gained knowledge whats important and what not...
