Yeah, the speculation is that nSlopia has a bunch of 3GB memory chips that were intended for the SUPER line that got cancelled, so they are using them in the low end lines. A 12GB 5060/Ti is also expected.

It introduces so many screen-space isms, like lighting going away at the edges of the screen
So we moved to turd tracing to escape screen space crap, only to have fake lighting bring it all back And they currently need 5090 in SLI

Things are definitely getting out of hand, especially with those slop-ified faces à la modern Youtube thumbnail that make the uncanny valley-o-meter beep uncontrollably

Everyone is complaining about faces, but I don’t like how environments are lit. Even ignoring screen space issues, everything just looks shiny with contrast bumped for no reason. And all game seems to get the same effect, since it comes from a model, rather than a designer. It’s just bad all around.
So now we’re about to have all the different rendering paths in single game:
- Traditional PBR lighting
- Partial RT renderer
- Path traced (aka turd traced) renderer
- Screen space “neural” renderer that also hallucinates details on character faces
Each with its own different artistic look.
