Look boring.
IMO, a proper Star Trek game should have the combat of FTL: Faster Than Light, planet exploring of Terarria and crew management of Rimworld but in 3D with "modern" graphics.

And also combat from Nexus Jupiter Incident, aiming subystems and destroying them. Fantastic.
I see so much AI slop in the artwork, its just off-putting to me. I mean, by all means, use AI, but I don't want to see it.
"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."
'the most exciting parts about Star Trek is the combat'
I often like the bluntness of this guy, but boy, he's such a derp peasant sometimes...
Honestly, this review almost made me buy the game Bland combat, diplomatic solutions, .... seems like a perfect Start Trek game to me!
Too bad the save mechanic appear to be utter crap (no manual saving ) , so I'll wait for an update.
There must have been a door there in the wall, when I came in.
Truly gone fishing.

Played it for a while, I'm a bit in sector 2 now. Game's pretty fun so far, if you're into resource management and such. Silent_Lurker will love it
You basically fly around gathering resources to keep up with fuel/food consumation, doing missions along the way and upgrading/expanding your ship. The away missions are kind of short 'choose your own adventure' moments, with options depending on who you selected for the mission.
Ship combat appears to be the weakest part of the game, but there have only been a few fights so far (which is fine for me).
The RNG aspect is ok (but could lead to some frustration, I can imagine ), and with the manual saving you could cheese your way through if you so wish.

It's very subjective and this game clearly ain't for everyone.
It reminds me a bit of chapter 2 in Rogue Trader, where you're free-ish to roam around the galaxy, which was my favorite part of that game.
It's like the Oregon Trail in space. Not sure how replayable it will be in the end (not too much, I'd say)
Also because I've never seen the tv show and don't know the story apart from the major lines.
