Its painfully obvious. What I don't get is why normal people are being the extended arm of these assholes. What do normal people gain from protecting Epstein and his friends?

I reckon some individuals (with mental issues) simply find comfort in knowing that one day when they'll become rich and powerful (never) they'll be able to do whatever they want and get away with anything. They're essentially defending their dreams.
It's more or less the same lowbrow sick thought process that allowed someone like Berlusconi to stay in power here for 20+ years. That and the mob connections, of course.
