The video games thing was a joke.

But regarding Tiktok: this is just bullshit. Even if people are hooked. Let them, people should decide for themselves what they want to do.
And why not ban alcohol? That does way more harm then social media.

It's all about censorship.

Sorry, but no. Tiktok fries peoples brains. Old and young people listen to teenagers or lunatics who tell them how the world works and how shit everything is, which might hit you back directly or indirectly depending who listens to these morons. Just get that shit out

If you think this is a problem: you are pro censorship, just like the EU. Laughing

But I'm also not to happy that Islamist use tiktok for their propaganda. Or the Russians.

But if it's about freedom of speech or the badguys have a platform to communicate their bullshit, I rather have freedom of speech. Also, I trust the wisdom of the crowd more then politicians. Things will be fine in the end.

People in power, without control the keep them down: that's the real danger. Like the EU commision is doing now step by step. Things have changed so much in 20 years, it's scary. TV for instance is now an applause machine for the goverment. Stay in line with the EU narative: you're fine. Be critical: face harrasment.

People also get influenced by other media. That's freedom of speech. You don't have to like everything that is being communicated.

Isn't it wonderful observation when right leaning Stormwolf agrees with left leaning Couler on the issue of banning TikTok.

I'm with friketje. That's one of those cases, where freedom of speech and expression should trample alleged security and sanity concerns. And yeh banning Tiktok would be a step forward on a slippery slope to even more censorship.
