I totally agree. While it was visually enjoyable the gameplay was a bit odd. RPGs shoud stay 3rd person only and they shouldn't be mixed with FPS.

Oh yea, you could switch to 3rd person but you lost all aiming capabilities for magic and non melee weapons.

Dumb choice IMHO because I don't like the "box vision" of FPS games. 3rd person gives you a better overview of the battle. The only use for 1st person view would be more detailed view of the objects (inspection) and long range aiming (sniping).
