Just tried the demo available at Gabe's headquarters and I agree, it is a definite
Heavily co-op focused with mandatory clown bot companions (in a literal sense) and protagonist delivering Marvel one-liners, two weapon limit, cluttered directionless action with 100% console gunplay and HUD/power-ups/progression resembling mobile games..welcome to the shift-delete hell.

Not in the conventional sense, at least in the demo. There's a mini-hub where you can automatically set up raids with bots (or online) and unlock more maps, upgrades and cards in typical 202X fashion. Reviving such an old franchise only to make something else designed to alienate the fans whilst quenching GenZ-y needs (the ones who don't even know Painkiller) is certainly a decision

Game ended up a as a generic co-op shooter. It feels clunky, full of traversal stuttering and it does not even have DLSS or FSR only XeSS upscaling i never seen that before lol.
Nothing in the environment is destructible even the 2004 Painkiller had that. Visuals are subpar i dont think it even uses nanite or lumen.
