Increasing the power of your needle and using Wanderers Crest is a huge help. Also the power that lets you heal quicker.

It's somewhat ironic that your solution is to get the attack pattern from Hollow Knight, something that nobody would know how to get on a blank playthrough.

This game is the monument of circle jerk around bad design. Laughing

Yeah it’s just no contest, the dps due to attack speed is much better and means you can heal up faster. Otherwise you can GIT GUD with the hunter crest, I just never liked the slow attacks. The hunter crest can be upgraded giving it some unique abilities too

Might need a replay of the first game but I'm feeling the mobility better in this game, I think.

Flying enemies are still a pain in the ass however and some of the hitboxes take getting used to, difficulty will probably ramp up significantly whenever I get some real progress after these initial areas that serve more for teaching the player various mechanics and some easier fights and early equipment upgrades.

Been a while, looks to have been worth the wait however. Smile

It's the best for most bosses, and great against Arenas. I still like Reaper more for exploration, because it's got longer range, and its dash attack is fantastic against everything. I practically have no problems with regular enemies with it. I completely missed on Slab capture in first act because I took out all jailers on first try. I found Wanderer the best for some bosses, though, others are more than manageable with other crests. Both end of act 2 bosses were somewhat easy for me with Reaper. While Hunter Crest worked really well against First Sinner boss. For some reason, I could get two hits with it, where I was getting only one hit with Reaper and Wanderer. Beast appears to be very good as well, but it's got the worst pogo attack of them all, and it won't heal on demand, making it the worst crest for exploration. I think that each crest having unique pogo attack is just bad design. Pogoing is a major platforming mechanic, it's just not fun changing crests and having to learn and relearn different pogo moves. I imagine that people just stick with one that they like, and ignore all the rest.

Hard design choice, so that won't change. They should revamp economy, though. Both currencies come practically solely from farming. It's really pathetic to find a secret with one of the currencies, and you then pick 15-30 beads/shards. And you need 1700-1700 for normal use of items and for purchasing and unlocking stuff. Again design choice, I guess, since there are items that actively award farming currencies. It just makes one consider Cheat Engine as an alternative to doing chores.

Honestly i never really got the money complaints, but i was constantly spending my money or exchanging them for rosary necklaces.

I did cheese a few times by save and quitting if i was gonna die and had like 600-1k rosaries unspent in a spot that would be very difficult to recover them at haha. I ran out of things to buy well before act3

100% with yathzee. The switch from 1on1 battles to fucking arenas full of bugs ala bullethell style is fucking infuriating.

more like arenas of bugs followed by an asshole of a boss, sometimes both at the same time. i wasnt too surprised by the difficulty spike of the sequel, Team Cherry was always inspired by the souls series, and the difficulty has spiked like crazy in those too. Beating Elden Ring without those retarded summons that beat everything for you would be a real feat.

90% of Elden Ring is piss easy, a few bosses are just too hard when compared with the rest of the game. There's no gradual progression in difficulty in the game, the open world is partly to blame for that.

I haven't reached the incriminated part yet, but I can already see how Silksong's designs progressively gang up in a self-sabotaging act. Although the game retains several winning aspects of the first one, sadly it also wraps everything in a blanket of tryhardness due to the hardcore fans needing the Gitgud 2.0 adrenaline fix. That results in a more artificial progression with mechanics/platforming/combat sessions and ideas (including fetch quests) engineered to waste the player's time, which can ultimately be tiring.

Hollow Knight was an absolutely wonderful experience for me back when I played through it - the game felt cohesive, well-balanced and deeply atmospheric. The exploration and sense of discovery were both challenging and soothing, almost in equal measure. This sequel is still a reasonably decent entry for the most part, but with the novelty gone and all the pesky caveats added to the mix, one can always hear the muffled sound of the sad trombone playing in the background.

Fuck the bosses, 20 hit combos that i have to watch for 5 minutes before i can get one hit in. Plus the stupidass hidden Sekiro stun mechanic making you jump attack like a retard constantly. Awful awful evolution of the DS series. IMO it was peak in DS3.

Yep, exactly, and a lot of game designers copied them because memes

They're balanced around red tool usage. Threefold Pin, Tacks, Boomerang, Conchcutter, Cogwork Wheel, or Cog Fly make all arenas fast and fairly easy. Problem is that there's guesswork involved in what is good against what. That worsens by scarcity of currency for them. In mid to late game, all the enemies primarily drop red currency, silver currency is rare. If you're playing the game without a guide, and try different tools in different arenas and on bosses, you'll go through a lot of silver just testing things. 2nd best way is farming red currency and then buying silver bundles from merchants. That involves farming red currency, then teleporting across the maps to the merchants selling bundles. Teleporting back to the boss/arena location, then using bundles one by one to fill your silver currency deposit. You'll be spending hours just on the routes to both teleport spots. All of that makes the best way, just giving up and cheating them in. You're really not making the game any easier for you, at the same time it becomes a lot less tedious.

I dont know, i didnt find the red tools all that useful, except the one that shoots 3 shurikens to take out the annoying flying enemies. There was one that was super strong, it was one that turns you into a drill but it was too situational. The tacks were ok i guess.
