Cable if I understand what You mean.
What's the difference? Speedtest is showing ~8ms of ping if that matters

I think fiber wires are connected to the building but normal cable is coming into apartment from Internet Provider box in the basement or something... then it splits into tv and internet/modem... which then goes to my router. PC is connection is wired though... I made sure to lay the cat6 cables when finishing the place.

Then it's a fiber connection with TP front-end from a gigabit-router in the basement or similar. Cable is coax, a completely different signal transfer technology.

My line is so hopelessly ancient and worn out that (on a good day) it can deliver some whopping 5 Mbps
I've been using the phone in hotspot mode as an alternative, but even the 4G coverage is unstable here

I'm still on copper wires. I wrote a complain to T-COM asking them why I don't have access to optics and then got the answer... it's technically not possible atm. FFS, they are advertising optic internet couple of years already but still can't 'stretch' the fucking cable to my house which is almost in the middle of the city ! Almost whole Europe is on optics now but Croatia has to be an exception ! Banditen !
Edit: How much does it cost with Telemach ? I'm paying 31€ for this sorry ass internet (flat ) and one phone number.
Made in China is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get.

It's 1€ for the first 9months, real price is 23€, no Tv or phone.
Not sure you can have Telemach, but you can check with them. It's just a simple optic cable and their little box.
