isn't W11 more resource intensive than W10 just idling? I'm sticking with 10 here until I literally cannot anymore. Worse comes to worst I'll do W10 ltsc which has security updates until the 2030's

Nope, faster for me.
Also browsing is better/faster (Vivaldi).
M$ advertises win11 is x3 faster, 2.5x would be more realistic

Yea I make a LOT of NPC pics for my tabletop.
It makes them, saves/sorts them in the right folder (Fighter, Wizard, Cleric, Villager, Blacksmith, whatever).
So I have a wide range of them to pick from for each game as I have NO idea who they will run into, or what they need to look like/'feel' like or have a vibe of each week. So I wildcard generate class/race/age/look/what have you and let it churn out pics.
And sometimes the town they are in changes. So a large town, vs a village, needs a different background and feel so make 1000 more.
Which turns into about 30 each for all the wildcard classes I have it make.
OR if I am trying to get exactly what I want, let it run and pick the one I like.
Like I wanted a friendly looking town guard that is a bear race (he is their guide in a new town they don't speak the language of). Set it to 1000, go eat dinner and find the one I like the best. I got this one I liked:

or this one, because one player is a Catfolk just to fuck with him, but changed my mind and went bear:

I'm assuming (could be wrong) this might be the old situation of:
An old windows install, compared to a fresh new install, makes it seem waaay faster than old OS.
Id wager 1/5 of the time people bring me a PC to upgrade, ask them what they do with it, and they tell me what they use it for but say its really slow and they want newer parts.
Im that "Mike does computers" guy, for friends. family, friends of friends and family.
I just clean up their old, bloated, 6 year old windows install (or worst case reinstall windows) and they are super happy 'whatever parts your put in fixed it!'. I didn't replace anything. I cleaned up/got rid of years of crap/cache/lingering bloat you had.

Yeah, bloat is possible over time. Installing, uninstalling, holes in the registry, links that lead to nowhere.
Installing nvidia drivers over the old one without cleaning the old one first.

Dont need to tie into or link a MS account to windows 10 if you don't want to:

Then I will go to 11. Not that I can't, just I prefer not to.
I see 11 as the tick/tock of Windows good or bad
Windows 95 – Good
Windows 98 – Bad
Windows 98SE – Good (fixed some of it, but too little too late)
Windows Me – Bad
Windows XP – Good
Windows Vista – Bad
Windows 7 – Good
Windows 8 – Bad (Windows 8.1 – Mixed, still mostly bad)
Windows 10 – Good
Windows 11 – Bad
