I mean, it's not like everyone doesn't know that UE5 games are a mess. Why pretend like it's exaggerated cases like that which are the problem?
Even more so for a game that's trying to be a DMC-like. You need good optimization with no stuttering. That's a lot more important than graphical fidelity, which by the way, is hardly anything impressive in this title.
Now granted, I've not tried the game myself, but if it's anything like the normal stutter of UE5 than it might as well be unplayable for a spectacle-fighter game.
There are plenty potato brains with potato pc's expecting games to run better than they do. But in this case some optimalization is needed. I missed the mark in this case, but that's life. Maybe engine.ini changes might alleviate some of the incessant stutters
Demo performance was good on PS5 but it’s really boring!
Where are the reviews already?
After all the hype, I’m thinking of wishlisting for a sale and skipping a day one purchase for a change
Just doing the prologue now and i'm not finding it very interesting either. It might become better later on, but it's presentation was lacking to be sure. Larger than life guy, a hero to some, a commoner to others. We the players have no clue who the protagonist is.
Anyway, i managed to fix my fps at least. Larger pagefile, optimized engine.ini and removed any gfx oc. Ray tracing is gone also, but that's fine as ray tracing looks terrible in this game.
Lost Soul Aside has walked a strenuous road to get where it is now. Originally a one-man effort, the game's scope was greatly expanded upon once PlayStation stepped in with its China Hero Project, in which it sought to support talented Chinese studios.
World building barely features outside of some character bios buried in the menus, and as mentioned, the characters themselves are paper-thin.
From stunningly dull protagonist Kaser and his overly talkative dragon spirit companion to the myriad tropey females who follow in our lead's wake, it's just about as cliche a narrative as you can imagine — and that's without even touching on all of the capitalised fantasy and sci-fi names being thrown about with little to no explanation.
There's a fundamental lack of polish — or at least $60 polish — throughout Lost Soul Aside. The emotionless character models look like wax dummies, the environments have a placeholder vibe, and the technical performance is off.
On one hand, it's a very intricately made action game, full of interesting combat dynamics backed by an impressive degree of player expression. But on the other, it's a pseudo RPG with a really poor story, crappy characters, and a forgettable world
Pros:
Explosive, intricate combat
Some great boss fights
A lot of room for expression
Rich, varied soundtrack
Cons:
Generic, predictable story
Very dull characters
Attacks can lack weight and impact
Various performance hiccups
Only thing I get from this is it has good boss fights.
I got Forspoken vibes from it lol.
Hard pass until further notice.
game runs perfect on 5070ti, 9800x3d on 3440x1440, but there are strange black bars smaller than 1 inch on the both sides of the screen in ultrawide. any1 knows how to remove them?
