Ok guys, I need your help. the RCM Loader for my Switch 1 broke. And apparently you cannot really get them anymore? There are some for ~14 EUR on Aliexpress, but apparently you cannot change the payload with some of them...
Are there any reliable sources? Is Switch 1 piracy really so dependant on these things? I know I can still boot the Switch via PC (or Android phone, if I had one), but that is way more complex...

Just boot it up via PC, come on it's not complex at all... If you are on Windows use TegraRCMGUI. If Unix, google python scripts for it, there are plenty that will do the job.
And then never turn it off. Money and hassle saved, I never ever used these "RCM loader".

Generally yes, but I don't play regularly on the Switch, so it might lie around for a bit and then I have to get back to my PC jattajatta. I just find it stupid that those devices things are not available anymore.

And worst of all is them pushing to digital only, and Nintendo has blatantly shut down old shops before. So there is a timer on how long you may keep your $80 "purchase".

kind of laughable that their games are still looking like they're from 2001.
They don't even use normal mapping from the looks of it, i've never seen any kind of depth effect on textures in the recent mariokart. Normal mapping was mainstream in games by 2006, and today we have far better tech to give it even more depth, parallax mapping for example.
the aliasing is also from the early 2000 era where it was common and acceptable.
people paying 10K Swedish Crowns ($1000) for this with latest Mariokart is mindboggling.. seems like you can get it slightly cheaper from Germany and other EU countries, but way more expensive than e.g PS5 Pro. lol...

It is 440 euros in shops in France. It's fine for what it is. Split Fiction is a UE5 game and it runs great on it. Sure it runs 30 fps, but this game is PS5/XBOX Series, not PS4/XBONE. Don't compare it with a home console, it's a handheld before anything, does DLSS and hardware RT with better tech than the Steam Deck. Not sure why people are disappointed in it. Because it's 430 euros instead of 300 euros ? Nobody whined when steam deck was 500+ euros.
It's not perfect, battery sucks, screen isn't OLED, but does it make it a bad console that should be boycotted? IMO nope !

30 fps isn't great, but did you expect to have a game running as good as a regular PS5 on NSW2? Of course they had to make sacrifices. Most likely if they had it run at 60fps they would have had to downgrade the game even more.
Of course if you expect to be running the same games as PS5 with the same performances and the same GFX quality, you are gonna disappointed.
But you are also dumb if you were thinking NSW2 was gonna be a portable PS5... Now I can understand the disappointment.
It's using a 2021 Nvidia chip, it leaked already 3 years ago.

Even PS5 was already using an outdated AMD GPU and CPU and was already shitty when it launched.
But don't worry, it will sell like hotcakes (it already does), specially when they will release the next Zelda and Mario games. This, you won't be able to play it on PS5 nor PC nor steam deck, just keep that in mind.
If you don't care about handheld, nor Nintendo games, then yes, skip the console, it's not for you. Either buy a PC or a PS5/XBOX.
Myself, I'm not disappointed : I knew we were gonna have a Switch Pro. The rumored Switch Pro was in fact the Switch 2 (but again we had beeen knowing that for 3 years now). Most likely I was not disappointed because I knew what to expect already and I'm realistic : the tech for a cheap console running the latest games with all the bells and whistles just doesn't exist. Anyone who think that Nvidia would have done magic upscaling 720p games to 4K had unrealistic hopes. We knew we would have a portable PS4 / Pro with RT + DLSS support for 3 years and this is what it is. AFAIK neither Microsoft nor Playstation have such console, so enjoy!
hope the xbox asus handheld blows the swtch out of the water and when people realize same games are cheaper and run twice as good on the other handheld it will finally sink in how nintendo fucked them into a locked system and inferior hardware
also i love how in the 100 eur cyberpunk they are letting these casuals decide between two crappy options of performance or quality mode ... instead of optimizing it into one switch 2 mode that runs good people are having to chose between two crap modes that both suck.... and guess whats that exactly what people on consoles dont want. having to chose settings n stuff

A banned NSW2 makes it quite useless : you cannot install any game updates (whether NSW1 or 2) and thus NSW2 patches. You also cannot redeem any digital game/buy them on eShop (and many of them are digital only these days) nor you can download "Game Key card" only games.
At least, a banned NSW that can use CFW can install dumped games, updates and DLC.
Until NSW2 is hacked and games+update+DLC are dumped, I would be quite worried having such a worthless console. Basically you could just play NSW1 carts and that's it (and unpatched ones since you cannot install patches). A glorified crippled NSW1 (glorified because some NSW1 games use dynamic resolution and uncapped framerates and will run faster on NSW2).
Not only that but keep in mind that even if MigSwitch could load dumped NSW2 carts, you'd still wouldn't be able to updates games and install "key card only" games (these are basically a small file on the cart, which tells the switch 2 to download a game update). And any server interaction with Nintendo needs an unbanned console.
Spot on. The only games you'll be able to play on a banned Switch 2 are likely Nintendo first party titles on physical cart. And even then, some will require a day 0 patch I'm sure and then... no luck.
All the morons stating that they're safe because they only play their own backups, or have stolen title IDs from other legit games they own / downloaded a demo of; they really do think Nintendo are stuipd don't they lol. There is a reason Nintendo left the Mag working on Switch 2; and a lot of morons don't see it.
This is until the Switch 2 can be hacked anyway. I suspect there may be an opportunity to pick up a cheap banned Switch 2 in the near future, and hold on until it's eventually hacked.
