Another miserable performance but, then again, this team shouldn't have even been part of the Euros in the first place. Zero attacking talents, no capable defensive players left either, nonexistent urgency and grit, no decent tactics, just plain extreme narcolepsy. I can see the current squad not being able to qualify for the next World Cup for the third time in a row Laughing

I just read this comment that sums it up nicely:
Quote:
I like to think that Italy woke up 3 years ago only to prevent England from winning a trophy and then went back to their slumber.

Germoney playing really well (as expected). And I love that "speculating with the score" isn't in their playbook (true to their reputation).

This was quite some football evening, for starters Italy losing. Normally you would expect them to win that match, but yeah I don't think I have seen any of their group stage matches. I am sorry for your loss ixi!

Then Germany versus Denmark, that penalty given to Germany seems unfair. At close range a ball was shot against someone's finger tip. 2nd goal was a judgement error by Schmeichel, he should have intercepted the ball. And fun times during the match: Rain, more rain, thunder and lightning (match got suspended for some time) and then hail stones, some the size of grapes during the summertime in Dortmund. Overall Germany deserved this win.

I wonder what the rest of the tournament will bring. I am not enjoying this European Championship so far.

How many times are England stuck in their own side, unable to take the ball forward because Slovakia are covering all players. Even the crowd booed them. How embarrassing.

I already had a good phrase ready: It's not coming home, and not to Rome.
And now we need to watch this match for another 30 min, bah.

The Slovak folks truly did their best given the technical disparity by also taking advantage of Southgate's continuous efforts to fuel football terrorism, but that's what being equipped with world-class players feels like, stunning stuff men. It must be nice to have them :') *sad panda jealously staring at Real's disgusting amount of MOTMs*

Eh, don’t know. I think Switzerland will wipe the floor with the world class players, if they play as they did today, especially in the first half.

Yup, being so lethargic and passive against the hyperactive Swissmen definitely isn't a viable option. England will have to stay vigilant and actually try to show some proper attacking schemes for once Razz

Also Spain vs Germany \o/, it's going to be interesting to see how the teams that have shown the best football so far will face each other.

123, couldn't find a better picture. The res is abhorrent (and it has a Dutch source), sorry!

My predictions:
On the left: I guess Spain and France will meet in the semifinal.
On the right: TĂĽrkiye could be a dark horse, but Netherlands and England in the semifinal.
Speaking from the heart or the brain?
Ranking wise TeamNL should be able to defeat Romania, Austria or TĂĽrkiye.
Unfortunately FIFA world rankings are a bit useless right now.
But if the boys (de jongens) lose their arrogance and play ball, who knows?

The French are way too close for comfort.
But Belgium has the potential for an upset.

Was there for a layover 2y ago: the ad for it inside the airport consisted of a film with people walking on a road. They were all blurred by the heat emission visual? Laughing
And the only bar with alcohol served Heineken for like 15$ a bottle Embarassed

If I wanted a heatstroke while being overcharged I'd stay in Brussels, thanks Laughing

France vs Belgium

Competing for the trophy of "who sucks more at trying to score a goal" (especially France, Belgium not even trying).

@HubU Belgium played well against France even while they lost. No shame there.
What remains of the golden generation of Belgium football players is also not getting any younger:
https://www.aa.com.tr/en/sports/belgium-s-golden-generation-team-of-stars-without-titles/2394675

Kevin De Bruyne 33, Romelu Lukaku 31, Axel Witsel 35, Jan Vertonghen 37

This list may not be complete.

Edit: It was not an attractive offensive match, but eh defensive chess match.
Kinda normal if 2 teams like these meet.
