I don't know if I missed it in the tutorial or was really nothing about it, but there's actually dodging. In the first 1-2 hours I was only parrying and cursing the super small window for it (like 0.5 sec to react) until I accidentally found out you can dodge. Some attacks can only be parried tho. And a lot of bonuses are around the parry, like "Deal higher damage after successful parry" or Gain Focus on parry". While you get nothing from dodge other than "Take less damage on dodging" and "Instantly use Legion Arm skill during dodge".
And you can't cancel your attack with dodge. If you attack and enemy attacks at the same time you will get hit. Think that's same in Dark Souls? You have to learn enemy attacks and learn when you have window to hit.
Oh, and most enemies hit like in Elder Ring. You see them swinging, but actually hit you 2 hours later.
I was able to solo all the bosses EXCEPT for that swamp monster cunt. What a cancerous camera-fuck-you boss that was. Most of them were very doable solo without dying a hundred times like you would in the Elden Ring dlc.
