I feel sad for the "fanbois" who have spent thousands and thousands on useless crap for this never-to-go-gold release and still justify why it's all w0rt7 1t
I'm just glad that you can tell they're no longer trying to reinvent things but are just trying to finish the damn thing
The base infrastructure still worries me, after all there is supposed to be thousands of people across the Verse, there will be serious hot spots and I don't see them deal properly with that at all, yet

The entire project is held together by duct tape and chewing gum, as it has been from the beginning. They've got how many disparate, bloated, amateur studios subcontracted on this? Filled with how much "feature" bloat over how many years? There's not going to be any sort of magical CDPR "it all comes together in the ending weeks" moment happening to save them.
The only silver lining in this shit sandwich is going to be seeing all those "whales" who've sunk multiple hundreds (some even tens of THOUSANDS) of dollars into the fiasco finally realize just how big they fucked up. It's not often one gets to see a gaggle of fanatics brought to heel in the stark face of reality.
It still sucks though, as we were all lied to with regards to what was promised vs what they ended up delivering over a decade later (or maybe never? ). It's also too much to hope for that anyone is going to learn/remember a damned thing from this legendary scheme.
I can never be free, because the shackles I wear can't be touched or be seen.

I feel it's doomed no matter what.
So much has been promised, so much money sunk into it, so much hype and the group die-hard fans behind it inflating what it is now.
Even if it gets released, and the general population of gamers looks at it again it will be:
...this is what 20 years and 100's of millions made? I...expected the no-parallel holy grail of games GOAT.
When what it will be seen as considering the expectations will be reduced to:
So it's no mans-sky but in one system, with Elite Dangerous lite, mixed with Unreal Demo graphics.
While it is more than that, the hype will make people just see all that they expected absent, and not what it does have that is decent.
And the problem with that, is that its trying to do 100 different things, and even IF 'decent' at them. The things each person wants is only 'decent', and the other 90 things they don't care about much don't matter.
So if you like FPS shooters..it's decent. Space combat? Decent. Trading? Decent. Exploring..decent. So 100's millions of dollars to do 100 things as a 'its epic because of all the options'. No one will play for ALL the options as a focus. So the grand scheme of 'all the things!' Will be a small scheme of:
Meh. it's just...decent..for the things I like doing. Other games do each better on their own. Why did this take 10+ years and 1/2 a billion dollars again?
This game is Chris Roberts personal lego set. He's using this game as his personal toy and seems to care less about releasing a good game and more about his own needs.
