Sea of Stars is a role-playing game based on the classics of the 16-bit era. This is a prequel in the same fantasy world of the action platformer The Messenger (2018),

This is how they want to put a stop to a malicious alchemist. The battles against his vile creations are turn-based.

I always worry these games are all about visuals and light on story

Story is allegedly nothing to write home about, something reviewers and players are mostly in agreement on.

For the short time since I've been playing it I'd say it's pretty good. Razz
My favorite battle system - Active Time Battle (ATB). Very Happy but it doesn't matter.
I would say that the game is many times better than Chained Echoes if I have to make a comparison with similar type of games.
Definitely worth your attention and time in my humble opinion

Finished it, took me around 35 hours to 99% it (missing some combat achievements, probably)

It's an enjoyable experience.Plot is average, but not cringey. You will probably not be surprised by the plot twists. Gameplay is pretty fun, and some music tracks are fantastic (like "Encounter").

I like it more than Chained Echoes.

What level up did you manage to develop the characters in these 35 hours?
​I established that level up is to be a very laborious task at least in the early hours Surprised

I did use a cheat table to get 3x experience though Very Happy
TBH I don't think having even 5 or more levels makes much of a difference.


BTW I will once again say I really like "Encounter Elite"
