FYI Headshot already posted this trailer on page 1 on August 20, 2024.
I can never be free, because the shackles I wear can't be touched or be seen.

Considering how the gameplay has felt in all Mafia games after I and II, I don't see what's worth getting excited about. It's a cinematic trailer. If they release gameplay that isn't 100% made for consoles I could see it, but these guys aren't known for making good UI/controls/camera/gameplay suited to mouse and keyboard
The characters (or caricatures) from the Mafia 1 remake should also concern anybody who values good writing
Apparently, this is using UE5, so you know it gon be gud 🤦♂️
Actually, this is one of the few (or the first?) instances where the custom engine was total shite and switching to UE is a good thing. The single fact that you will be able to turn off the forced TAA is worth it (remember Mafia 3 - the pinnacle of blurry mess?).
Otherwise, I agree, it is sad that we are losing excellent custom engines (of Tomb Raider and Serious Sam for ex.) to UE.
Going for the full gamovie(tm) experience with extra-bombastic setpieces and a general console-centric direction that once again has very little to do with the original game feels like the natural move for these devs. Hangar 13, not even once
After all, it's the same people who thought something like this was fitting (among the other things)
i wonder if it's open world'ish at all, or straight linear, like Uncharted? Many people comments on the video that its Assassins Creed, i don't understand how, i don't see the resemblance, unless it's also shown its as open world and with as much free roaming.

They just said at a PAX stream that it's like Mafia 1 and 2, so there is open world that you can explore but they guide you though a linear story.

The racing scene and the horse chase are looking like they take place in a lane with a less detailed scenery in the background like classic arcade racing games.
So it's not open world i guess??
Sucks, my first impression was that they aimed for a RDR clone.
