I can't watch this crap anymore. I've always heard about how great this book series is and how much of a hard scifi it is.

Well..

Stronk women galore and the plot of just space magic. How the goddamn fuck is this hard scifi?

Finished S02 and for someone who didn't read the books, I find it very compelling. Here's to S03

It's a space opera, not star trek so don't expect scientific accuracy. I enjoyed it for the spectacle it was

Well as far as i can see the online net debate (usually straight up bickering) is the book readers who call it "magic" and that it's not in line with the books, then it's the scrubs (tv only viewers) who're apologetic and defending what they know only half of. Another day on the interent

But it's a wrecked series as far as i can tell. It would be better if math and science was it's thing, not this magic stuff that starts taking serious root around the start of S02. Just my point of view.

It was fucking amazing how Harry could forsee so much and it was exiting to see how it played out, but fuck that. Gotta make him wrong and have women with magic abilities correct the course. I'm done Laughing

The books have absolutely nothing in common with this piece of trash show.

I very highly recommend the books, but the show (writing and acting alike) is absolute trash.

The good parts in the show are all involving the emperor, who wasn't even a character in the books after the first few pages.
The should have just named the show and main characters differently

You are right. The emperor storyline and conflict is basically the only piece of the whole show, which is interesting. But they ruined that too, by making Day really irrational at the end of S2.

Everything else is about: black women are right, even when it makes no sense. Because magic.

There is no character growth, no inner conflict, no rationality to how characters behave, etc.

This would be utter shit even if it wasn't called the Foundation, but like this it is also insulting.

But Day is going nuts even in the beginning of S02 since the pilgrimage and not seeing the butterfly thing (or whatever it was) Black lady. (always black ladies in this fucking show) also messed with his head. He knows he's not the rightful ruler and probably lashes out.

Sidenote, this show wants to hammer in us one simple worldly factoid: Women right, men wrong. very simple, very wrong.

Just a theory as i've only seen the beginning, but the cast is turning me off something fierce.

I didn't read the books so that might be why I don't mind too much. Tho I have to say that I didn't expect "telepathy, magic n shit" in season 2. It took me by surprise a little.

And by episode 3 we're approaching a full crew of marvel/star wars esque characters, and a faggot couple with intimate kissing scenes as a cherry on top. Faggot male whites, the only white males Hollywood currently likes that aren't treated with scorn and disrespect at every turn.

I think i'm gonna go back and stick with Korean shows again, this woke shit is just aggravating

During those scenes, I was thinking. Not only is it pushing gay intimacy with a fervor, but how awesome is it, that this gay romance is basically the only intimate subplot they show at all?

Anyway, the show has loads bigger problems than it being woke. It being WEAK is a bigger offence.

If you are looking for decent sci-fi from the last year, then I can suggest Severance. Best TV I have seen in quite a while. I also rewatched Counterpart again (which is stellar imho) and Battlestar Galactica, which aged quite OK imho.

Well, i have now finished diversity and inclusinon hire the show. It was good-ish, but the diversity hires apparent plot armor was a major annoyance. I don't like plot armor in general, but come on.
Day's death was this series biggest mistake. He was the ONLY character i can say i liked. I enjoyed when he was smart, but they wanted to make him pathetic just to have a reason to have him die pitifully.

I'd actually say that the thing that made this series break from the mold is gone. I did not cheer for the good guys at all. I cheered for the empire as i wanted to see things get fucked up.

Well, he died at the very end of the second season. And Demerzel has already spawned a new batch of the trinity for the next season, so what's the problem? We gonna see Lee Pace again.

If i was a faggot (like 90% of the shows intended audience) that would be enough. Season 2 was moralizing their situation like a bitch. WHat didnt it moralize? fuck sake. Because the intended audience no doubt. Demerzal who was actually supposed to be a male character will manipulate them into becoming bitches, or the whole moralizing bullshit in season 2 would be waste of screentime.

"But but she can't do anything due to programming" Sure she can, it's made for lbqsdsrqq+ people. Logic take a back seat over emotion.

I do agree the show is woke, I still like it.
As someone who read all Azimov's Foundation book series in my childhood, I am aware that this show is Foundation in name only. I just see it that way: a woke fantasy eye candy vaguely based on Azimov's books. Among other contemporary woke TV shows it's the best, at least, for me. So I even may overlook its multiple alphabet moments thrown in my heterosexual face.

I don't think strictly book based adaptation of Foundation is feasable due to the very nature of those books.

Nice, can't wait for it Exclamation . I hope they will give this series a proper finale and won't drop it in the middle of the story.
