I thought the exact the same thing at first. Then I remembered it's 2011.
Doesnt mean anything...they are making a new Carrier Command so it wouldnt be impossible with a new Captain Blood.
It DOES mean a lot, since it's highly unlikely that in 2011 they'd remake a 20-year-old game.
Also, Carrier Command is a flight simulator, whereas Commander Blood is an adventure/space sim/thing (with an entirely new communication system you had to learn to even start playing the game) unlike anything else ever made (except the sequel which was shitty anyway) and that's a huge difference.

Carrier command isnt really a flight simulator - it simulats quite a few thing.
We also saw Alien Breed remake...and lately remakes of Monkey Island

It is a shame though...
I think 18 YEARS is a little more serious than "development hell". I'm not sure what one would call it honestly. When this game was announced I was still in college. Holy shit.
