I have a 4070 Super (non-TI). It performs great. It's overkill for 1080p I would say, I use it for UWQHD. You will definitely be doing weill with it for FHD for the next years.

My review with 20 benchmarks at 1080p, 1440p and 4K comparing all RTX 40, RTX 50 and RX 9700 (XT). Only AC Shadows and GTA V Enhanced are missing results from some cards, but I'll add them shortly -as well as some other section I couldn't make it. The card arrived yesterday afternoon so I did what I could, which I believe is quite a lot.
I'm considering replacing my 4090 with 5080 or even 5070 Ti purely for content reasons. I might do one more video regarding the temps improvements but other than that 4090 is so done for being relevant to the viewers.

I was getting ready to buy a new card in the coming weeks. I'd actually been considering a 5070 over the over-priced AMD cards here but now I might just hold on for a 5070s if this turns out to be true.

I’m 99% confident that they will be released. If I have to guess the release would be first half of 26.

That's what I was thinking as well. I think I'll just grab a 5070 now and flip it in a year and upgrade it.
ordered 5070Ti yesterday, managed to find on MSRP Gigabyte Windforce edition 850 EUR (almost same price as for 9070XT models are sold here. Seems like it was accident because today the price went up by 120e anyway they shipped it so too late for them.
hopefully this will help me to survive 2 years until 60xx series, cheapest 5080 I found is like 1300 I wanted that 16gb vram and some performance upgrade.
now lets hope I manage to sell my gpu for 500-600e
edit: lol the used gpu market here seems dead, no offers so far
so 5070ti is here and it has all the ROPs sold the 4070ti 12gb for 550e in the end, so for 300e not great not terrible upgrade. Hopefully this will last me till 6080
5060/Ti are bleh (depending on price) from what I've read and seen; avoid, especially the 5060 8GB.
Meanwhile, I got my 3070 8GB and it runs circles around the 4060 Ti which can only catch up with framegen. Slightly better fps but added input lag and occasional "trash" from the framegen. The same goes for 4070 vs 5060 Ti although the difference isn't as big as between 4060 Ti and 3070.
I'd say 8GB is the absolute minimum today, even for 1080 if you want to use the highest settings for textures and other stuff that affect vram usage. In fact, buying a new GPU (50-series) with 8GB is just stupid. 16GB should be the standard these days.
EU VAT (and most European countries I think) is 25%.
Doesn't matter though, good luck actually finding those cards at those prices. The cheapest 5080 (Inno3D) in Sweden is 1373 €. The Asus ROG Astral is 1811 €.
The cheapest Radeon 9070 is 732 €, the cheapest 9070 XT is 823 €.
The 90-series Radeons are looking damn fine this year when it comes to price/performance.
EU VAT (and most European countries I think) is 25%.
Not trying to defend anything here, but in addition to the VAT difference (which comes on top of the US prices), there is also more consumer protection in place in the EU, like right to revoke, better warranties, etc. I have the feeling this also goes into pricing with about 5-10%.
