The realm of Embervale is lost. In their greed for magical power, your ancestors unleashed a pestilence that consumed the world.
Enshrouded is a game of survival, crafting, and Action RPG combat, set within a sprawling voxel-based continent. As you journey across the mountains and deserts of an open world, you are free to choose your path and shape your destiny.
Ignite the Ancient power of the Flame, and piece together the fragments of a story that unfolds below the surface.
These devs would have, in the past, tried to make a 3th person action RPG.
But if you want to make money with a small team, this is what you have to do
-story/cinematics not needed
-people are happy to grind, lenghten the game time for no effort
-people are happy if only the core of the game is okish. Like this one, clunky combat, whatever. It's survival time

I would have no problem with them if we finally got some that released in a finished state. You know, the big 1.0.
7 days to die - it's been in early access for over 10 years now. Fuck off. It should be thrown off of the store at this point.
It's early access every time. Then a gamble to see if they will ever finish it. I'm still waiting on Valheim's 1.0 before I dive in.

They nickle and dime you with the Bazar and drip feed shit with the Ages now instead of doing proper dlc´s.

"new" cancer, it's been like this for a pretty long time now. Think 8/10 games today are oPeN-WoRlD!! ARPG-Lite which instantly means same tired and boring as fuck grind content for hours gameplay loop. I would say 5-10% of open-world games are worth playing (Elden Ring maybe the last good one).
I miss the FPS era where a lot of games could be finished in 10-15 hours honestly.

I love survival games - but i only wish they would give more content. But I do love the fact that i can run servers with my friends and we can play on and off with each other without actually anyone getting too far.
(I only wish my mates were as exited about the building part as I am)

I would/do the same, but everyone quits the game and gets board once they have to grind 1000 steel bars or whatever it is around 30% into the tech tree.

Would love shorter games also, altough i'm not that much of a FPS person. Survival mechanics is the about the same junk as fetch quest's in RPG's and catching feathers in a ubi open world game: adding junk to lenghten the game for little effort.
I would rather play games that respect my time. Sure there is a market for 100 hour + games grindy games, but 20-50 hours used to be long for a game. Now people consider that poor value.
It's also streamers dictating the market: they need to stream a game for weeks, so you'll get long games with grindy content.
So far I like it, but as with any survival game you need more time before you actually can tell.
The building system is great though, much freedom. However, for some reason if you dig/chop or destroy things outside your flame altar...it will restore itself again at some point.

I've noticed half a dozen things that look like they've been ripped right out of Breath of the Wild. Literally in some cases!
I kind of like it, not too often you see voxel engines imo. The game is quite entertaining, but i think its more fun if you play it with others tbh.
Gonna force my mates to buy it.

Did not get any smarter after reading that thread. Half the people just defend the developer without thinking if "maybe" just "maybe" the developer is not entirely truthful. Better spout putrid towards anyone who complains instead! I was gonna try this with a friend, but maybe i'll hold it off for a while. Got enough games on my plate anyway
Rambling:
Spoiler:
I think this is the case with most arguments on the internet. Defenders will never conceive that whatever they think is true, might actually be a lie. And people who want to make a buck with somewhat faulty goods, will fucking lie, or walk that thin line between truth and lie

Social media made it so that EVERY SINGLE POST, or TWEET, or ONLINE FART has now weight and deserves an audience.
So we were 'tricked' / lead to take into consideration and give 'value' to ANY lunatic's nonsense.
It's a time when everyone's opinion is the perfect, unique, most correct, informed, absolute one.
Almost right. There are social rules. In defense of something you gain the upper hand. You don't even need anything to support it. Bully mentality will set in and people will join in disparaging you in lots of creative ways. Against something, even with proof (loosely or not) you will be fighting a mountain.
In my eyes it comes down to luck, face factor, or if what you claim is supported by some idiot influencer.
Picked this one as it is on sale and enjoying it a lot. I like this is not just a sandbox, but there is a lore and story and some real quests that push you forward. Obviously it pisses me off that it is EA and who knows when will the 1.0 be released, but overall it is doing some new stuff in oversaturated survival games genre.
