I'll disable it. edit: At least I hope it is PhysX because some people say the crashes persist
Well, I can confirm that disabling Advanced PhysX fixed my crashing. I'm on GTX 970.
Anyway, just playing this game for the first time ever. I wasn't interested back in 2010, and I rather didn't push Last Light on my old GTX 570 ('fraid it would melt ) when it came out, so now, with the Redux version out and my new 970 ready to get to work, it seemed like the most perfect time to jump on board. Needles to say, I'm impressed so far. Hopefully, Last Light is just as good.
Yeah, it doesn't crash anymore after I disabled Advanced PhysX.
My God they have made the game so beautiful.. and it runs so well too! I can't get enough of the graphics. I also imagine Last Light is going to be a bit prettier than this!
I love this game, just the trading/market UI is a bit confusing and the new voices for the kids are horribly out of place

My game glitched and the trigger to progress on a certain mission.. is not being triggered.
I clicked to replay the last checkpoint 3 times.. nothing changed.
I clicked to replay the entire chapter -> the game exited to the desktop.

Metro 2033 Redux was updated with some stability fixes for the Nvidia 900 series, Metro Last Light also seems to have another patch in testing but it hasn't been released yet.

anyone who got the original non redux game, and can the benchmark for me and let me know his results , metro2033benchmark. exe in the steam game directory , v1.02
everything maxed : Options: Resolution: 1920 x 1080; DirectX: DirectX 11; Quality: Very High; Antialiasing: MSAA 4X; Texture filtering: AF 16X; Advanced PhysX: Enabled; Tesselation: Enabled; DOF: Enabled
Total Frames: 1845, Total Time: 59,7452 sec
Average Framerate: 30.98
Max. Framerate: 57.22 (Frame: 1743)
Min. Framerate: 6.35 (Frame: 492)
im totaly not happy with this result on my new rig, and i see benchmark sites listing my 680gtx at 60 fps on these settings
Average (with PhysX disabled) is 30, like yours (and you have it enabled).

It's a performance hog..x2 is more than enough if you want to use msaa...
Metro 2033 is actually only supporting 4x MSAA for whatever reason and the performance hit is very steep which is why Redux (And 2034/Last Light) switched to SSAA instead as it's more flexible.
(Besides the busier PhysX scenes 2033's MSAA is about the most demanding graphical option you can enable.)

Never heard of this (in the original, for Redux I don't know).

i7-3770, gtx970
and it looks i should actually be happy with my 31 average, and those websites were talking out of their fucking asses
i have same cpu as the 970 bench, so when the new 1070 comes out or whatever they will call it i might double my average so will wait for that but this is just plain silly that a dx11 titel still brings a modern system to its knees
Disable the DX11 DoF and you'll get a good speed up.

weird that in gpuz, the cpu and gpu controller are not 100% max spiked, but going between 82 and 95%, memory around 40 and 55% only using half my 2 gig of ddr5
