ppl have an inherent bias against ubi bcuz they pull shit several times a year.

There's no way they'll sell Assassin's Creed.
IMO they'll go private and Tencent will technically own them, but they'll still have the name and rights to AC etc.

I don't get it why so many people get a hard on from Ubi getting wrecked?
Personally I liked most of their games even if they are not the greatest or anything, still they are decent most of the time.
Ubi closing down means less big budget games overall and less competition for other big companies.
I don't like that idea at all and it baffles me why anyone interested in gaming would.

For me personally e.g. ASS creed besides 1 is same rehashed slop.
Same goes for far cry. They dont make quality content and are partly responsible for shitty state of gaming.
*Remember when ass creed games had to connect to a online server.
You did need a server emulator for some assasins creed games (single player)
*Copy pasting your open world generic bs over all franchises is just lazy. I wonder how the gameplay of Far Cry 75 will be? Guess not much will change.

*AAAA (quadruple A games) costing more than their counterparts but are worse games. After the game fails ofc ubi blames the "high expectations" of gamers

*Ubi is riddled with sexual assault claims but tries to "teach" gamers about political correctness. (Ass shadows-> not to mention how many cultural things they fucked up there)
*Older Ubi games that you purchased didnt work/DLCS didnt work because Ubi decided to turn of DRM servers.
*Remember when ubi wanted to make Xdefiant(or was it some other game) where they wanted to introduce NFTs in the gaming space?
These are only things off the top of my head. Might even be able to add more stuff if i think about it. For me personally I'd celebrate them going bankrupt Nothing would be lost for me.
They arent competition they are a cancer. They purposefully try to introduce bad practices into the gaming space.
Even if all their brands would be dead this instant it would be a loss since they make copy paste games.
The brands would probably better off if some other companies got their hands on them.

As someone whose last purchase from Ubisoft was in 2014, I honestly care very little about the company's current debacle - it's been dead to me for years anyway 
Ubi made many old classics that I will always be fond of but from my point of view, nothing of value has been produced by them in the past decade, except for Anno 1800 which was great yet also Denuvo'd and crippled by silly seasonal policies. Not to mention the (revolting) way once glorious franchises like R6 and Ghost Recon have been handled, along with their other valuable IPs subjected to unrewarding gameplay designs, lazy rehashing, inept projects and unfulfilling ideas. The same applies to EA, Activision, Square Enix and so forth, if by any chance any of those dissolved into thin AAAAir one day, I'd just ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

same I legit dont give two single fucks about this company. Their games are too maliciously designed to be fun. And stories too safe and stale to have any substance at all.
Compared to the old R6 & Splintel cell days, it's just sad and it might be for the best that it is put out of its misery.

Got through much of the Ubisoft backlog on the video game side of things even if I've not posted much at all about games lately.
Replaying the Assassin's Creed series its easy to note the improvements across the various installments but also the changes to gameplay and what is being focused on, accessibility options aren't bad and helpers to difficulty are welcome but the games get easier.
The more inclusive writing is also notable, it can be good but I feel like I barely keep up with Valhalla and from how I hear this is getting even more criticized in Shadows, which I haven't played yet.
Though this also holds for Far Cry or the Watch_Dogs games, don't have much to fault the UbiArt games for though.
Need to do a replay of the Prince of Persia games as well or at least the Sands trilogy before the spin-off games and reboots, latest one has gotten some positive receptions but its another one I don't know much at all about.
Also going back to Far Cry a bit replaying Blood Dragon after binging through the 1980's with Robocop, Terminator, Rambo and many more I actually get the tons and tons of references they crammed into that game!
Don't know what else to say, the launch state still seems a bit rough with months of patches revising the game thoroughly, Massive appears to have hit it bad with both Avatar and the Star Wars game though I'm not sure what they are working on or how much Ubisoft decided with release dates and crunch and that whole bit.
Exploration, art assets and environmental story telling still holds strong as well but its a bit of a lesser comfort when the gameplay is mind-numbingly easy and the writing is incredibly shallow or generic or I'm not entirely sure how to describe it best.
Not sure how Ubisoft are doing overall either, so many studios gets absorbed into the publisher giants, guess Embracer isn't going to kill them at least, Microsoft seem to focus on online although they do have Rainbow Six Siege there still going strong.
EDIT: Another late evening rant I suppose, now where's the Bioware thread to really trash-talk things!
