there are good parts but pacing is off, u mean mark and cobel finally meet up and they sat in the forrest for many hours and not exchange words? even after she mentions cold harbor and knows about gemma?
just no, ep 6-7 finaly got mark reintegration which seemed to be very important and that part took a big step back for the other things to catch up, this should have been a big reveal before going into the finale
yeah, characters not talking to each other about important things and pushing the story forward is my biggest gripe at this point. There are good moments, but I feel this season wasted a lot of time. The Helley R/Helena storyline took way too long, for example.
The numbers don't decide, the system is a lie. The river running dry, the wings of butterflies.
And you may pour us away like soup. Like we're pretty broken flowers.
We'll take back what is ours. One day at a time.

If only they had more security (at least, some security) on the premises.
If only they had the technology to switch off innies on the severance floor or switch off outies on the outside. Oh wait, they do.
amazing directed and performances and that payoff delivered but while i understand that decision in the end i didnt liked nor hated it, gonna be a long wait again
I've come to the decision I still like this show. It follows the tradition of Twin Peaks and Lost, tradition picked up later on by West World (first couple of seasons) and Devs. The show, especially the first season, has its unique visual style not unlike UK Utopia (2013). I think I like Ben Stiller's directorial work on this one, I was sceptical at first.
The trick is always the same: to make the audience endure inexplicable puzzles and labyrinths, hooking on emotionally understandable characters who are just as perplexedly scratching their heads. "Severance" stands out from the crowd with its original combination of intonations. The nightmare of dystopia is fused here with the frivolity of an office comedy, generously seasoned with absurdity.
This characterisation of the series is snatched from the web, I agree with it.
I still think the conclusion won't be a satisfactory one, at least, not for all. We gonna have another Lost dejavu.
it was OK. some shows dragged on too long. Conclusion was fine. Overall the first season was much better. Third season already green lit, so hopefully its better than last.
It was extremely difficult, if not impossible, to recapture the novelty and cohesiveness of the first season, and S02 definitely fell flat in that regard. Certain narrative devices felt off, there were additions that didn't bring anything interesting to the severed table besides crumbs of bizarre mystery dropped at random, leading to a journey that gave the impression of being written on the spot. The concept still works reasonably well though, and I'd lie if I said that I didn't enjoy the season's main plot so..[glitchy elevator sound]..wait, what?
I just caught up to this show after not paying attention to it … for reasonz. I love it. Really well made. I loved season 2 as well, and obviously it wasn't going to hit as hard as season 1. Can't recreate that novelty. But still interesting. That actress has quite an interesting walk.
But what I love the most is the artistic design. So they use a Bell Labs mall as the Lumon HQ, which is a very unique location. But also, the old cars, the midcentury modern office and household furniture, the computers, the MDR desks. The complete lack of any hints of a time period to compass the show is really well achieved. Is it an alternative past? A dystopian post apocalyptic future, stuck with objects of days past? Really unique.

Spoiler:
Yup. Exactly the thing that drew me in as well.
On top of what you say, this is what I find masterful: the way they actually combined the items and settings from differing times and styles to fit so well together. It absolutely has a sense of place, these things belong together so well. I was so surprised, when I learned this was Ben Stiller's project.
I only had 2 other shows, that drew me in as much as this: Counterpart (only 2 seasons sadly) and Devs (only one season sadly).
Ben Stiller also directed some of the best episodes. Who knew.
The world they’ve built both feels real and completely impossible at the same time. They have a Lada car and a modern cell phone, computers are 80s terminals but they have mini disk video recording cameras. Everything is so out of place and yet fits just in.
No, can’t say that I have. Last year I rewatched Mad Men, and that set design was legendary. Then I looked at the prices of some of the “everyday” items on that show and giggled myself to sleep.

u would have known this if u watched escape at dannemora, stiller turned out an amazing director and the best episodes of severance are directed by him. once it was announced this was a ben stiller directed show i was hyped
