People will forget in another week or two, after the 15 minutes of current minor social events meme life runs out.
And sure they will be fine, if fired someone will hire them. Plenty of 'profit over morals' corporate juggernauts exist that are not familiar household names/brands out there, that will quietly hire them if good for business and move on in time.
