I skipped to one part of a video above, broad daylight, you are a few feet above NPCs and they don't see you killing their friends.
They can actually see vertically when you set stealth difficulty to highest.
I dunno. Based on videos I've seen this one does freshen up the series a bit. Might be the best AC since quite a while. Whether that's saying much, not so sure.

Assassin's Creed Shadows Devs Reportedly Advised Not To Post About It Amid Harassment Campaign
Quote:
French news network BFM TV now reports that developers at Ubisoft Quebec who worked on the game have been “advised” not to post about it on social media to avoid becoming targets of the harassment campaign. As translated by Google, one anonymous employee commented, “There’s a team that monitors networks and acts quickly in the event of a targeted attack,” going on to say that Reddit threads, YouTube videos, and other mentions of the game are monitored for potential abuse. “Unlike what we’ve had before, this is serious.”
What does this even mean today? It ranges from true harassment or "reeing" over posts about people disliking the game and the choices ubisoft has made.
Microtransactions are just cosmetics that have been in the most recent AC for a while now. I don't really get what the complaint is all about. Just don't buy the skins. It isn't that hard. I don't see how that is tied to the game game design, which is not tedious at all. You can progress at your own pace and every gameplay mechanic is an integral part of a whole. In that way it plays more like Far Cry 3 o Black Flag, that's why it is the best AC for me.
I know this John guy isn't from the top shelf, but if he's doing everything properly here, that's not great

Anyone else remember when Resident Evil 5 came out, and people had an issue with a white guy going to Africa killing a bunch of black people?
I'm just impressed by severing the head with a Tetsu-bo and by the looks of things blowing it right out the poor guys crotch.
The heavy blunt finisher in Origins worked better though, right in the nuts and the sound designer couldn't be arsed to figure out what that would actually sound like so instead a porcelain pot being smashed was used as the sound effect.
I do expect exploration to be really fascinating once again although I've gotten used to the very player-friendly neutral writing and low risk taking, Valhalla in particular but not just that and the way major characters often end up as black and white often cartoonishly villainous and caricatured rather than interesting morally vague grayness.
But this is a flaw that has persisted since the series origins with a few highs but more often than not several real low moments for these characters portrayal.
EDIT: Maybe the representation will also be better than Valhalla and its one of each type.
One Irish viking, one black viking, one Chinese viking and so on in the village.

But the microtransactions are not just skins. They haven't been just skins for a long time now.
Just don't buy XP multipliers. I never did and I never will. I don't even enter the store tbh. I just enjoy the game as is.
That would be all well and good if the game didn't also monitor your ram for trainers so you can skip their deliberately tedious game design that make not paying a real chore.
The only reason I was even able to bother with isodemo'ing the past few ass creed games since origin was trainer enabled XP multipliers.

But that's not what you said earlier, is it? You said it's only cosmetics. Well, it's not even only XP multipliers. These are disingenuous things to say as a reviewer, even more so when your review doesn't even seem to mention anything about the store.

I don't think it's relevant because the store and MTX have been on AC games for years now. Pretty much everyone knows that by now.
