The cheap Omron switches are by design Smile Made to last a year at best, just in time for their new variant Wink Logitech are the worst for this, but most do the same Smile If your able, and brave, best swap out those cheap shit for better, as there will come a time when you will most definitely have to, which is the time when they want you to buy again, coincidently Wink Have swapped all the switches on my mice, for the quality that should be there, not a single problem thus far.

Not everyone's brave to solder switches and when re-assembling the mouse end up with crap not working anymore (sensor, wheel, etc...) and really having to buy a new one.

Sure, you can try, but not everyone's a pro and shit will happen

Logitech made new mice like the G PRO WIRELESS and stuff and still goes mechanical. I wish they announced something at E3 (even though they're not there) and end this pain

However , like i said, Razer and Steelseries did a step up (Not sure if SS has issues on their PRIME -YET-).. So why Logitech doesn't?

Anyways, i saw an ASUS mouse, the "ASUS ROG Chakram" wich you can open up the click buttons and replace the switches (with a picker tool that comes in the package maybe?) and change em to something else.. Wired and you already pay the price for the "Change parts" stuff, but when it comes to hand feeling and stuff well, good luck finding a store to try it out (There aren't where i live...)

Logitech now teasing another set of coloured gear for the 29th but as always nothing about mice switches becoming OPTICAL or fixing their shit (G502 HERO's rubber thumb rest design, ghost clicking, etc)

https://twitter.com/LogitechG/status/1409225056920784897

EDIT: Meanwhile, "The thumb fucked, the right click fucked... And the free warranty G502 HERO!"

https://twitter.com/DV2THEFOX/status/1409491644324458498

This last one had the thumb rubber issue but decided to remove the bottom door and press/hold the fuck outta the rubber edge for +30sec and now feels like "new"...95%, that is. No double click issues, S/N2115

If it fails i'll try another Warranty thing or head to the LIGHTSPEED

There's nothing "durable", all MECHANICAL mice will double click soon or later

If ya into Logitech then the G903 (Big hands), G502 LIGHTSPEED (Same) or G PRO WIRELESS (Small)

G903 and G PRO WIRELESS have those "Change the thumb buttons on both sides" so you either have 4 thumb buttons, 2 on the left/right only.. Mix it up. (Has "Blank buttons" with's just a slider without pressing functionality)

PS: If you end up getting a Logitech again, make sure to check the production date to make sure that you have the "reliable Grey Omron Switches". Grab the mouse's box at the shop and check it's bottom and find it's S/N. It has the S/N YYWW format (Year, Week). If it's 2050 (2020, Week 50) , aka past half of 2020 then it should have em.

Else you'll get the blue, non reliable Omron Switches (Anyways both grey n blue are chinese , but you could solder Japanese more reliable ones... But that'd void the warranty and end up with a F'd up mouse if ya don't do things right)

2 last resources, maybe, if Ambi' is not into your options, is the Steelseries PRIME (More clunky noise and a bit harder to press buttons but they're optical switches)

I don't know about Razer because of people's opinions (Bad QC, dying scroll wheel, etc etc) because it has the BASILISK V2 wich'd fit ya hand (Though someone who bought the BASILISK ULTIMATE had it's right click dead and required a hella pressure to register (So it's bad for FPS)

"Pick your poison", just like me (Wanting to replace the G502 PROTEUS SPECTRUM to a G502 LIGHTSPEED because the G502 HERO has a brutal "Flaw design" by the thumb area (lifted rubber, while LS has it 90% fixed, only "lifted a tiny bit" by the curve that goes to the sniper button... But the LS "fix joke" costs 125-150€ among the wireless topic (stuttering/jumping)

Again, "pick your poison"

Thanks for the super detailed recommendation!

I waited a bit more, spent some more time with the mouse wired, but now it's getting worse and the mouse can spend less time wireless until it starts going mad again.

I tried all bunch of mice.

The problems I had were:

1. Breaking buttons (Logitech).
2. Breaking micro-USB charging point (Logitech).
3. Mouse pointer goes mad with wireless (Asus).

I looked for reviews on reddit and bunch of sites specifically for durable mice, but the ones they say are durable are ones that get a lot of bad reviews on breaking.
The thing is, in Israel, it's a lot harder to get a mouse RMA, I got a bunch of dead mice at home I can't do anything with really because just dealing with RMA is not going to be worth the time.

Maybe I should go with just a plain old Microsoft mouse or something? I remember they used to be pretty good hehe.

@X_Dror
The old MS and logitech ones are a tanks.
Im sure they will eventually fail too..but god knows when. Both my kids are using oooold logitech mx518's that I got... around 2006?
That I used 8+ hours a day for 5 years, and then they beat the crap out of (back when teens raging at league, or some game) and they STILL use them and work 15+ years later perfectly.

Wish someone still made mice like that.

The problem is that there are essentially only used models in the market, and the ones that are "new" cost $100 and are wired only, not talking about PS/2->USB compatibility hehe.

True, but its not technology we dont know still.
Just no one that makes mice seems to care to put that much robustness into them anymore.

I had a friend that was a really bad online rager with one (mx518), could HEAR him on teamspeak back in the day playing EvE slamming his mouse when he died, or throwing it across his desk, and it worked still for a looong time.

Now most mice I get if you happen to have a heavy click finger the left button gives up the ghost and eventually has a less pronounced click sound, and double clicks in under a year or so.

just ordered this mouse from amazon.com and it will arrive in 2 weeks, i hope for the best.
double clicks shouldn't happen with it, no software needed, not wireless, grip on the sides, crisp clicks (not like omrons) fits all my needs.
my g502 again has problems with the mouse wheel and is skipping inputs from time to time, im just done with repairing their low quality shit over and over again.

there is a also a black and white version, which has kailh gm 8.0 switches, instead of huano switches, but it seems like it has sensor problems right now, which will be fixed with a firmware update in the next months, but i don't want to wait for that to happen, so i got the normal version, which doesn't has the problem.

so far everything good. the first one came with a rattling right button, it wasn't flush the switch, so everytime you moved the mouse and didn't hold the button it was rattling.
ordered another one and all is fine. hope it will stay like this.

 Spoiler:

/edit
don't buy it. the second had rattling on the left button after a few days and the third one from the official german ducky shop (caseking) had a defect mouse wheel.
don't know why ducky is such a big name? worse quality control then logitech and that means something. probably just rgb whores who recommend this piece of shit.

G502 hero... what a fucking disappointment.
Ultra light click on both left and right buttons, even just moving it from side to side and on a new mat of all places. And if I'm getting this correctly, the older g502 models are being phased out for this hero crap... great move logitech

Comparing it with my current G502 on that same mat, I can rest my fingers and waggle it from side to side, front to back without a single click.

Yeah but the extra expenses and extra work, while (for now) if I really REALLY need a new one I can still get the original G502 in some places around here... nah. Gonna return this one, or maybe try to swap it to find out if it's a general issue or not. Only got this one cause it was like 40€.

i read a lot of good stuff about the razer viper mini and they are using that optical trigger now which should prevent double click problem and should last much longer i guess.

and good video, i've checked this mouse stuff before it's always cool, this optical tech sounds like stuff that would be sold for millions but then it would not be able to be used in a mouse

Ok, not sure if this is the right thread, but I'll just go ahead.

I have a Razer Viper Ultimate and I recently got a Logitech MX Keys. Both are used with their respective USB-dongles.
Now I have a 2 PC setup (one for work, one for gaming) and I currently use a USB-adapter with a switch to switch between both PCs. Now that the MX Keys has the buttons for switching between different PCs, I wanted to see if that could work together with the Razer mouse.

Obviously it does not work out of the box, and when I need to switch mouse and keyboard individually there is no point in using the functionality of the keyboard. So does anybody know if it's somehow possible to "integrate" the Razer mouse with the MX Keys switching keys, or maybe connecting it to another dongle or so?

I hate the razer optical switch (or whatever switch it has on my Viper mini), its very stiff and you need to press hard on it to click. Way harder than on my Glorious Model D, which btw, is the best mouse I ever used.
Perfect shape, perfect weight, perfect senzor, natural feeling omikron switches or whatever they are.
Usually I like collecting mice, but there´s no reason to switch from this glorious one, not even curiosity, its just perfect for me.

Got this Roccat Kone Pure Ultra Coral edition, which was only launched in China, Korea and Japan, for some reason.

Got it from ali express, in about 4 weeks, from China. Arived safe and unharmed. I was already using the regular Kone Pure Ultra, black one. It's size and shape are perfect for my hands and the curvature of its ergo shape are awesome for that 8-9 hour work schedule. The hand sits so relaxed that i never feel pain or discomfort. The coating on this mouse is also the best one from my 15 or so mice. Its super grippy, you dont need grip tapes at all.

I'll be alternating this one and an Xtrfy M4 wireless

Welp, Logitech finally did his move, and a kind-of-a great one, that is.

Introfuckingducing the Logitech G502 X series in 3 models (one of em "kinda unnecessary")

The same G502 look but:

-65% faster than previous LIGHTSPEED
-Black and White versions
-OPTICAL + Mechanical hybrid switches called LIGHTFORCE (Crispy as always, just better?)
-USB TYPE C CONNECTOR (for wireless versions. Not sure what's the benefit tho)
-The middle hole where the wheel is at is filled with plastic (No more finger in the hole)
-Better wheel + rubber. Still speed and step-by-step functions
-Same 25K HERO sensor
-You can turn the sniper button or put a flat piece (from the box) to not use it
-Bigger G buttons at the left click's side (NOT TALKING ABOUT THE THUMB ONES!)

-106g (compared to the 121g from the G502 HERO).... However, THERE ARE NO WEIGHTS INCLUDED IN THE BOX THIS TIME.

Differences between models:

G502 X PLUS (Flagship):

-The above + RGB (And that's fucking it). 160$

G502 X LIGHTSPEED (The kind-of unnecessary one because...)

-NO RGB (And that's fucking it. Difference?. 20$ less)

G502 X

-Wired, NO RGB (Annnnnnd that's fucking it. 80$ total tho)

So i'm debating on getting the flagship one, but... Is there a way to tell it to stay always awake?.. At work we own a MX MASTER 3 (W10) and even after fully charging the bastard, the moment you unplug it and stay away from it for a few minutes it'd go to sleep, moving it wouldn't do a thing for a few secs, YET all the buttons works as they should

PS: No, at work nor at home, we do NOT put the PC to sleep. Full power off

What i want is that, after being away for a time, being wired or not, the moment i grab the mouse it should move the cursor and all instantly (Also not jumping to another side of the screen randomly)

But yeah, great news so far...

So rocketjumpninja said quite a while back that palm grip is for lazy casuals and pros are using claw grip. Huh.
So I retired my old Glorious D and bought the XM1r and changed to claw grip and my aim is a lot better.
But on my Razer Viper its still trash. What gives lol

Forgot to post, but 2-3 days after the release this good shit came in https://twitter.com/DV2THEFOX/status/1566773205179793415

Perfect condition with the box.

Personal opinions after a good time of using

-Better hand rubber grip among being more softer without the arrow crap from the G502 HERO

-No RGB on the G (A shame but it's ok)

-Clicks to begin with felt a tiny bit harder than the original G502 HERO but still responsive without any ghosting/finger riding crap (Except the WHEEL, wich has it but only if you PROVOKE IT ON PURPOSE, but it had to be tested)

-Wake up from sleep is 0.3sec instantly like even though i've set it to sleep after... Well, next step

-The RUBBER trigger button can be removed (and place a FLAT RUBBER piece instead) and place the trigger one in 2 positions depending of ya likes

-G HUB software, again, SUCKS, but i was able to create a profile and just make it so that the mouse sleeps after 15mins (sometimes feels it takes more tho, wich's weird), only to uninstall G Hub, run "Logitech Onboard Memory Manager" and the bastard caught the mouse , being able to give it lights (basic) and config the buttons ,then remove G Hub until they fix the onboard memory issue

-Such issue is related to : Create ya custom profile away from the default desktop profile, put ya fav RGB and button disabling (in my case) DPI etc and save, then remove all the onboard memory profiles and put in my custom one. The moment you change to onboard memory mode every setting ya did VANISHES and makes the RGB go pink-whatsoever like the box's colours. Even when ya disable the onboard memory it stays into the default settings, hence the help of Onboard Memory Manager to help out

Until G Hub doesn't allows to save super customs into the mouse and not fuck it up later then fuck it ,but for now it's uninstalled etc etc...

Wireless is perfect and the dongle is ontop of the table to make sure it doesn't fucks up. When i need to charge it unplug the USB from the dongle and put it into the mouse and enjoy/rest.

9/10, worth every cent . -1 because of the fucking G Hub

If you dont play in the ESL i would say you can stick with the normal Hero as the pricegauge for the X and Lightspeed is kinda steep compared to the old design.

They are 2 to 4 times more expensive except you go for white one.

Hero - 43€

Regular:
Hero X - 80€
Hero X Plus - 156€
Hero Lightspeed - 129€

White Edition:
Hero X - 70€
Hero X Plus - 148€
Hero Lightspeed - 129€
