Decent so far (3h in), a bit hard to judge it yet.

How big is the game world, are there any cool regions (like dunes etc?)
Does encounters gets more interesting or is it very same:y?

Weird to see that helmets is not a thing in this world or part of the lore in any way btw.. even if its fantasy i think helmets is something that quickly would have developed in these conditions Laughing

I took me about 20hrs to finish 1 region.
I am in 2nd and it looks like it is going to take about the same amount of time to finish it.

Well, after 20hrs I don't get much new content when it comes to encounters. There is sometimes some escort mission but let's face it - it is battle focused game.
So I don't expect grand plot or anything like that. Just contracts, exploration, fights and RPG elements.

Helmets IIRC are thing that did not make it to 1.0, but it is said that they will come around. Eventually.

EDIT: Typos.

BTW Game got many elements like crafting equipment or cooking food, you know - micro maaegeing, well fit together and I don't get annoyed by them.
Some devs tend to make some elements way to complicated just for sake of being complicated. Here... it is smooth.

Nice. Yeah, i don't expect story, i just wanted a better Battle Brothers. Will be interesting where it goes in terms of patches and DLC's.

Here's a good review after 100%

I have 90 hours in this and still counting.

The first three areas are rather similar with some major differences only in how the stories can play out and visual design. After I finished all three, I was afraid the game dealt all its cards too soon. But this is not the case.

The 4th area is another deal entirely. I was greeted by new visuals, new mechanics, new monsters and an extending plot that would definitely have some ramifications in the final act.

The 5th area also stands on its own feet with a huge city and a murder investigation plot that keeps things fresh.

Sadly, the performance seems to get worse with each new area and it's slowing down the gameplay. The leveling also slows down and it's hard to keep up with the enemies. There are a few more gripes that become more annoying over time, but I'm still loving the game.

Yeah, I am 40hrs in and I can already feel performance going down..
I hope they can fix that soon, although there is no hotfix for quite a long time now...

The story in the 5th zone was pretty well done. I'm looking forward to see what the final zone has to offer and how my choices play out, I hope they will matter.

They got some sick skills dealing loads of damage. I have to think this fight through, because I lost one of the mercs earlier and those new skill require a different approach.

Unfortunately I only have one such guy. And he does not even have that much armor, gotta do some swapping. Until now, most of the fights were fairly easy, so I did not have to go into any particular "build", instead just getting random mercs and skills that sounded cool

TBH there is a lot of useless skills and bad builds that just make the game so much harder. I looked up some guides because I'm lazy. Restarted with new team and now I'm steam rolling everything so far. At least 3-4 kills in first round, galvanized in second and in the third end of the battle.

I finished it, after nearly 130 hours spent in it. It's a bit grindy and it's kind of weird that you need a camp item to properly level up.

The final boss battle was quite challenging. It was very enjoyable overall, but there's plenty of room for improvements.

I'm wondering what's up with the radio silence from the devs.

Yeah, since april patch there is only survey posted...
Of course I gave them low rating in communication with community section but I doubt that someone's gonna read it...

AI Improvements
For veteran Wartales players, our AI (the system commanding non-playable characters in battle, not the technology preventing all of us to buy a beefier GPU) has always been quite predictable and tends to always attack their closest enemy.

With this update, the AI in Wartales will change his behaviour in two major areas: Movement and Decision-Making
