The finale was actually pretty good. The show seems to work as long as it concentrates on the main storyline only. They should completely axe all the side crap, relationships, social, regular jobs (lol) and college stuff and kill off the socjus girlfriend and that one annoying dude on the teen team then it could be good.
I remember reading the comic ages ago. It started off good but ended up becoming a huge mess involving so much bs and from what I remember they've already made quite a few changes to the story for the show but nothing compelling me to follow it through. Amped up the violence and swearing for edgy reasons as well. Also:
Caved in and read the entire comics, I liked it quite much.. not sure the TV show amped the violence all that much though, it's pretty high in the comics as well The changes to the original story have been minimal so far, I hope they don't fuck with it.
Some parts of the comics were more forgettable than others, but the main story is very solid, a lot of good material in there. It stops being college bullshit early enough as the characters grow.
It's going to need a lot more than 3 seasons though

It takes between 8 months to 2 years from pre-production to release. So the shows and movies coming out between now and mid-2024 were written and produced during peak lame and gay multiverses. It's going to be fun times ahead.
This plot line was originally written a bit earlier than that though 2006, sometime around that ? They've been following the comics pretty accurately so far, no reason for them to do otherwise (other than cut stuff out, otherwise this is going to take a good number of seasons).
Spoiler:
I'm saying that because I thought this multiverse stuff was coming much later though, it surprises me you're mentioning it at all ? I might be recalling the comics' timeline wrong, read it all at once .
Invincible is no The Boys, it's a "classical" kind of comics series through and through, it just comes off as more modern thanks to a more inventive storyline, better twists, more "mature" and relatable characters (in the sense that they're average assholes, not perfect heroes) and further-the-top violence than most.
It's an enjoyable read overall, but some of the arcs (there's a lot of them..) were definitely weaker and a bit too predictable/formulaic.
Will watch this when some more episodes are out, too annoying otherwise

Cool. Almost started reading the comic because I couldn’t wait.
"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."
First 3 episodes of season 3 dropped yesterday. Next ones will be released in episode per week format (overall 8 episodes).
I couldn't wait so I've watched it and for now, it is better than season 2 (bar wasn't that high anyway). They are still just setting the pieces instead of significantly progress with Viltrumite story in a significant way, so I hope that change in the next episode.
I don't think they are able to achieve the level of the 1st season, but it is stil la fun watch so I cannot wait for the next episodes.
