BSG fans, this will NOT be a remake of the amazing series @RonDMoore launched because... why mess with perfection? Instead, we’ll explore a new story within the mythology while staying true to the spirit of Battlestar. So say we all!
Some people think this means it will be a sequel set in the existing continuity.
If you ask me, I think what he's saying is that it will be a brand new story in a brand new continuity. True to the spirit of BSG, but it will be brand new; it won't reintroduce "this is Adama, this is Starbuck, this is..."
TWIN PEAKS is "something of a miracle."
"...like nothing else on television."
"a phenomenon."
"A tangled tale of sex, violence, power, junk food..."
"Like Nothing On Earth"
Remnants of humanity lost in space looking for home.
That's all I wanna see.
+1
This or gtfo.
"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."

Are they going to have a "Galactica" in the name? If it does, and it's not a first Cylone war type of story (which I don't think would work), then it makes no sense. The Galactica is a battlestar-class ship from the Caprica colony. At the end of BSG, fuck you if you haven't watched it yet! Galactica, along with the rest of the fleet were flown into the sun.
So what nonsense will they come up with? There was a fourteenth colony which nobody knew about, which miraculously had the same technology tree development, and, to our fan-service amazement, also had a "Galactica" battlestar? Or maybe in new Earth's future, the same bla bla bla tech tree bla bla bla holy fan service amazeballs bla bla bla Galactica?
“Sam called me and was very gracious, he didn’t pitch me the story so I don’t know,” he said. “But he said his plans and he wasn’t going to re-start the show and recast it but he wanted to do something in the same universe. Sam’s amazing and I love ‘Mr. Robot.’ I was like, you know, ‘You’re an amazing guy and amazing writer, go with god!’”

BSG has way better actors and characters overall, more interesting story too imo.
I don't think it has anyone even close to as good as Adama, Saul, Starbuck or Baltar. I would compare Expanse's actors/characters to perhaps Apollo, decent/watchable but not really standing out.
Yeah, in BSG I am (emotionally) invested, in TE, it's less about the characters, but about the "mystery" I.e. the whole who killed the rich girl and why and then the whole proto-molecule, but that's all over with it and now it just seems to drag on, story wise. IMHO, TE took a serious hit with season 5. It has great visuals and all, but the story just isn't moving forward.
I highly disagree.
I highly enjoyed BSG, especially the first 2 seasons, but its quality diminished, while The Expanse seems to only get better. I also find the acting and most of the characters in The Expanse a lot better.
And a sci-fi show with biblical/religious allegories/references is always unacceptable, in my book.
There must have been a door there in the wall, when I came in.
Truly gone fishing.
Good news: ‘Battlestar Galactica’ Reboot is dead.
It's an article from 31/07/2024, but I learnt about this only today.
Quote:
The long-gestating reboot of “Battlestar Galactica” is no longer in development at Peacock, Variety has learned exclusively.
The project was first announced back in 2019 ahead of Peacock’s official launch as part of the streamer’s initial slate of original programming. It was never formally ordered to series, though, and has been in development ever since. Exact story details never emerged, but the show was said to be set in the same continuity as the 2003 “Battlestar Galactica” series.
Caprica was too ahead of its time
They can safely start developing reboots in 2025, the pendulum should have swung far enough in the other direction now
