Good way to end up with a Temp ban and possibly removed characters. i would not advise anyone to abuse exploits like that in the future, while in ea it might be fine.
I wonder if they are eventually going to tie character names to your username like Diablo to allow people to have the same character name otherwise by the time this comes out of Early Access there will really be slim pickings for character names.
Early Access Characters will be put into their own seperate League to not influence Launch Economy. Which in turn should also mean all names are free at launch.
After Youtube seems to have realized I play PoE2, I have made a personal observation:
Kid: Mom, I want an annoying clickbaity ARPG streamer whose content is autistic in the bad way:
Spoiler:
Mom: We have an annoying clickbaity ARPG streamer whose content is autistic in the bad way, at home:
Spoiler:
I barely know who either of these two are. But man does Youtube seem to think I would realllllly like watching them. And I have realized I reallllllllly do not.
To each their own, the internet is big enough for everyone's entertainment types.
But that last guy is one of the few content creators that makes me both want to grit my teeth and viscerally get annoyed at him talking..about anything.
Like if we was at a party together I'm sure in under 30 seconds I would be compelled to walk far away from him.
Not sure how to put my finger on it. Like the mental pacing of a ADHD 10-year-old, the tone of an angsty 16-year-old, all wrapped in the persona of the acid/pot head that hangs out at the high school parking lot years after his graduation because that's where they look up to him as 'mature and wise'.
I enjoyed for about 15 hours, waiting till they do all their balancing bullshit. Maybe a year or two and i'll play again.
I got annoyed that the player is slowed down to make the gameplay more tactical, but the enemies are much faster than you, so if you dont kill everything in .5 to 1 seconds after they show up on the screen, you're done. Surprisingly ended up very similar to the first game.
I will say, Act1 was really fun, and Act1 boss was masterfully done for a hack n slash type of game.
I had the opposite experience, but I think I might have accidentally picked one of the OP classes.
my friend who plays is BAD at these games (he never reads tooltips or plans well) and he's doing OK-ish. But he's also the Witch/Minion path.
I dunno if its the OP class, or if my build is 'good' (I don't look at guides 50% of the fun of these is figuring it out myself).
But other than t15/16 maps I don't die much. And in those its when I push too hard forgetting they are 15/16.
A shame endgame is designed for streamers that have to show content 24/7. But this is like any other aRPG.
Imho endgame should be about beating hard content that's dangerous and grind perhaps to get past that hard content. Not spending hundreds of hours to even achieve max level.
It's just doing time.
But this is what people want i guess. Remember diablo 3 release that had those mini bosses that killed most players in early endgame, the nerdrage .
- Party play needs plenty of improvements
- Towers need to be reworked so they are not such a nuisance
- Citadels should spawn more often
- Some builds need to be tuned down
- Item rarity needs to be nerfed
- Crafting is really required because the inflation is through the roof now
- The atlas should allow you to place notes
- The atlas needs more unique maps
- Etc
this isnt the next level arpg, its just same old shit with just moar shit piled on top of it in the hoped people wouldnt notice ... well i noticed and now i cant unsee ...
making an arpg slow and tedious ... deserves a massive backlash

^ This, 100%. I really, really enjoy Act 1.
It's as if Act 1 was done by a different team than the rest of the game. Acts 2 and 3 are not only too drawn out, but are repetitive as well (and the map design sucks most of the time). I have been unable to get to the end of Act 3, even though I play on a daily basis – truth be told, I do rotate at least 4 different characters, though. It just gets sooo boring with all the unnecessarily large maps.

I think the problem is you. The game is not slow by any means to the point where it becomes a problem like in poe1.

The acts only increase in quality and production value. The caravan, the time shenanigans and many of the boss battles (the titan, the queen of filth, Ketzuli, the duel, etc) make the 2nd and 3rd act more impressive.
My only gripe is that the 3rd act is slowed down too much by the huge maps. This issue has been mitigated to a degree by the addition of checkpoint travel.
They just have to add some fun modes to the game. Let people play what they want to do. If people want to do boss fight all the time: let them.
Want to do hard content or survival mode untill you die: go for it.
If you want to slowly grind for hundreds of hours to beat the final boss: good for you. But the latter is the only option now.
Now it's grinding low level maps to even get high level maps. What is the fucking point. Also don't like the sort of hardcorish things in the game with punishing death penalties. That's what hardcore mode is for imho, I don't like that shit, I want to die trying and try again.
Perhaps release will be better. Chaos mode good be fun end game content. If the game has some of those things. Some sort of nightmare mode for campaign that is very though to beat for the avarage player but doesn't take a shit load of hours to achieve could be nice.
@friketje
I dunno my friend is VERY average player (worse actually he is bad at stat based games).
And he is level 80..somehow.

Achieving a certain level is no indication of skill, just how much time you have spend.
Not much, he plays 2-3 hours a night after work and kids. maybe 5 on weekends.
And wouldn't say it takes skill. Most everyone I play with 'skill' is left click, right click a few times..repeat" as we all figured out all you need is two skill based (let the rest proc/auto cast), with a Q or E tossed in now and then if boss or big packs. Then the spacebar when hit too hard.
From what I can feel this game is far more forgiving, simple, and less wall hitting than PoE1. Thats both good and bad to me.
I miss the complexity options of PoE1 (maybe they will come with time).
And its near impossible now to make a "Hes broke to the point of unable to make it one location without dying, and don't work" character like PoE1.
I myself miss that, I like figuring out I made a reallllly bad build from things that sounded cool (Give me ALL the options, even bad ones and let me learn what works). Friends don't miss it at all as they would get to about level 50ish in PoE and hit a wall of difficulty, then just die over and over.
Its not Diablo 4 "square peg square hole" level of simple. But it's not PoE1 level of get a slide rule and excel out to make a viable character past 50 either.
I mow down shit, and I didn't follow a guide. My approach for gear, gems, passives, and such? I want pet damage, and not to die..so:
Does it add minion damage? Yes, please. If no minion damage option, does it have Energy Sheild?....that's it. Literally went to passive tree and searched "minion damage" and "energy sheild" and got those.
For gear I look on the market if that piece can have minion damage or minion level, if not look for energy shield and/or spirit. Slap on rings and belt for resistances I need.
Not saying its ARPG GOAT or anything. But it's far from any list of 'Worst APRGs of all time".
These games are not designed for being hard cause to many people would quit.
They are designed to be played forever.
I remember Diablo 3 with it's classic 3 difficulties: that game was getting harder the longer you played. And a lot of people rage quitted in endgame. That's how it should be. The game should offer an increasing challenge and you should grind/gear up to beat it. And it's fine if you hit a wall. Diablo 4: it's just doing time. You'll never get challenged.
I'm still in the campaign: cruel diffuculty is easier then normal. They made the first map in cruel a bit harder to fool people. It's silly.
It's just an endless grind beating meaningless content.
The devs add artifical difficulty to compenstate: hardcore like mechanics and just a very, very slow progression. So everyone can clear maps at the highest level. As long as you have the time.

To me, every ARPG is an endless grind beating meaningless content.
Since D1 I've seen them all that way: Mindless numbers get bigger, triggers dopamine 'feels good', and nothing more.
They are all: Bigger numbers, more numbers, more mobs for more deaths. Repeat with even moar until bored.

I haven't tried all the classes. And only 1 of mine is over 80. But I got a sorc, ranger, merc, in their 30's and a witch (the 80 one, Im a sucker for pet classes in games).
The only time a boss has one-shotted me on any of them was when my build was me trying "let's see how this works" tossing gems together theory crafting stuff with no idea if it will be good. Or I just had shit gear with no defense and/or forgot about resistances.
But to be fair, I have not done a melee class. So maybe they are borked in EA. Can't bring me to enjoy playing a magical fantasy game, where my means of killing people is "walk up and hit them with an object". Not saying it's bad. Just not my cup of tea.
The game has issues for sure, but the potential is there.
Early Access was the right call, I doubt the full release is in 6 months from now, unless they are quite far into the development of the missing content.
