I love this game. My pvp skills are nothing like they used to be but I love the pve approach. The gun mechanics are crazy fun. Been running a dedicated coop SFT server with friends and it’s been a blast.

Who cares about gameplay. It's one of the few next-gen looking titles out there so BRING IT ON.
It honestly ruins every other FPS for me. Haven't been able to touch FO4 since.
I'm on PVE here as well, I hate playing PVP wondering if it's a hacker that just killed me. Even worse when it's an obvious hacker. PVE was the best thing they ever did to this game ImmOOooo
My only complaint - performance is either much better or completely fucked after each patch for certain maps. It's like flipping a coin.
My lighthouse quest is also bugged with no recourse, so I'm waiting for that to appear again.
It depends if you can get into the flow of visiting the same map 5,000 times. They do change them up with seasonal weather, whether or not bosses appear, the amount of scavs vs PMCs etc.
If you can, it's great. Loads of progression and they just made it more challenging again with this latest patch. There's so much to configuring weapons, ammo and armor, but it's the type of micromanagement that I love. You can have the 'best' gun in the game, but if you use shitty ammo (low damage / armor penetration) then it's rubbish.
Once you figure out all of the controls for weapons, movement etc it's like nothing else. And movement speed being bound to the mouse wheel is something I think most PC games should have. I have about 600hrs on it now.
I didn't read any guides and just learned as I went, much more satisfying that way
I don't know the history of it, as I bought the base game 7 years ago, but yeah I did have to pay extra for PVE
Originally it was tied to the highest tier purchase ($140USD), but people complained and they added it as a separate thing
The base purchase ($37) + PVE ($15) would cover it
Another option would be to pirate it and play with SP Tarkov, but progression doesn't carry over and it can bug out + fuck your whole profile, wot has happened to me in the past (before PVE was a thing).
One of my first posts on here was about EFT. At first I was spat out by the game, but it intrigued me enough that I came back and got hooked. Played for 3 years quite heavily (over 2.5k hrs), becoming more and more fed up with the devs bullshit decisions.
I've been superficially keeping track of the changes and wanted to play the last wipe with some homies, but wasn't feeling it at all.
Many of the issues that were there (graphics, audio, ai bullshit) were still there. On top of that the amount of grind is just mind boggling. Mind you, I knew how to play the game, but the amount of knowledge you need to keep up with is just too much work. Keeping up with barters, quest items, crafts, generic dogshit quests themselves that are just grindy bullshit. Not to mention cucking anyone but highest edition owners.
Unless you have copious amounts of time to devote for the game, it's probably not gonna be a pleasant experience. Back then I said it feels more and more like a mobile freemium game without the V-bucks to skip the grind. Feels like we're almost there.
PVE never gets wiped so you can take your time. If you enjoy the gameplay loop, I don't see an issue with the grind. The grind = good tactical challenging fun for me. It's like having a perpetual Rainbow Six game or something, with something to aim for all the time, with maps and AI that are never in the same place.
I LOVE fighting PMCs. Bosses not so much. That Big Pipe mother fucker and his full auto machine gun, each round hitting you perfectly from ~400m away
The editions thing - considering you can enter a map with a beretta, no armor and some basic healing items, then walk out with 3 kitted out M4s / armour etc, what's the big advantage? The storage case? I prefer to play on lesser editions anyway. I never understood the appeal of paying more for less to do in a game.

Never had issues or major grievences with PVP, it's the other bullshit around it that pissed me off. That's why PVE is completely not for me. I fucking hate the AI.
I mean, it's just different strokes for different folks, so I'm not looking to change anyone's mind about it, nor vice versa.
But I like being competitive, even if the game inherently isn't. And being competitive, is unfortunately requiring memorizing a spreadsheet and memorizing a shitload of stuff. And the extent of that just burned me out.
Holy fuck you can finally CTRL + click items into open containers
And highlight/wishlist items that you need! No more notepadding or memorizing every single thing!
(I havent played for few wipes so I think this was added already)
