I had it pop up yesterday after it was gone for a long time, I refreshed and it was gone again.
YT is anal again since december is apparently where most of the ad money is spent so there is a rush around it.

Using Edge:
The last ~2-3 days Youtube seem to have updated their stream frontend since some ads suddenly started to appear as well as empty black rectangles where there should be thumbnails even though I have ~2-3 different adblockers running.
I downloaded a couple of youtube adblockers (that didn't work any better) until I installed AdBlock Plus, an adblocker I haven't used in years. Now the tube is back to normal with no ads anywhere.

I learned google intentionally breaks ad blockers, now im on firefox + ublock origin, never again chrome.

Oh, yeah, I'm using FF, so I can only vouch for that this browser is working with said add-ons.
