So I cleared out some makeshift prison but the key for the cell will not spawn until you learn about the captive via a quest (you still can overhear guards talking about him. Same with the excavation site. I cleared it out but then when I got the actual quest to go there it got magically repopulated with enemies) This is pretty silly.
Other than this the game is pretty cool so far.
I think it depends on how long the side quest is, or if there are more things to do/know. For the prisoner, you need to know where to send him after freeing him, which you only know after getting the quest from that professor.
In Egypt, I found some red tracks I followed to a cave, and that actually completed the quest before it was given.
There must have been a door there in the wall, when I came in.
Truly gone fishing.
the enemies respawn everywhere, this is why kinda pointless to go stealth
Seriously? I didn't notice that in Italy when I was going around taking pictures. Some guy saw me stealthy knock out a guy standing at the entrance of a tent on the grounds of the church there. He comes in to investigate, knock him out start stashing the bodies in the back when more came to investigate and then they stopped coming. There were still some at the far end but they couldn't see me there. lol
The brittleness of these weapons need to be readjusted tho. How the f*ck does a hammer break after hitting someone twice with it?
It's not woke, unless having a female companion (like in every Indy movie ) makes it so. I like the banter between them, actually.
Enemies take some time to respawn, which is something at least. Some enemies don't seem to respawn at all, depending on the area.
I started just picking a fight and then let the rest come to me. Combat is easy, Indy punches really fast too, and it makes exploring the area a lot easier
Indy has always had a woman in the movies, but not really in the movie if you know what i mean. She's there but not there. So as long as this cunt doesnt turn into a gurlboss with indy becoming a yes man, i have no issues with it.

there is another female character that is implied is a lesbian, this where all the woke comes from, but that scene is like 2 seconds, the main female companion is same as in the movies and she is a great character

at some point sooner or later the whole area will respawn its enemies

That doesn't bother me except for it being stupid to include lesbians in a 30's setting
well yes but is it correct to call the game woke for only that? i think most def not. it didnt bother me either, it is a good scene and the character is great, all the characters in this are well done
Who is calling it woke, Stefan? You do this in many threads. You claim everyone is calling something "woke", and when you check the comments, it's not what anyone is saying.
I did think it was going to get pretty woke with that rainbow warrior saying it's for the "modern audience", i'm glad it didn't turn out like that, and maybe because people more and more are starting to call out this shit, and we should, when stuff is actually woke.
i dont do anything, the usual people post in every thread that x reviewer says this, steam forums say that without the poster seeing with his own eyes if its true wat they say or not because these days for clicks and views people exaggerate the smallest things
and because u posted wat worthacunt said, idk why people still watch him in 2024, for the same reason i said above i assume, everything he said wasnt entirely true, so its better to just dont watch him and just play the game...

i heard stealth is the only way, if you shoot you alert the entire level basically and all enemies comes running and you're dead.
just no, this isnt a stealth game, there is no skill tree for stealth, its mostly health stamina and combat...

Mack also said for puzzles you can't solve them yourself, your companion will help you automatically or your own character will tell you all the time that you should look in a certain spot
only 1-2 times in the entire game the companion helps u and indi dosent say any clues when alone

he mentioned lesbians, as expected, but that it also didn't impact the game much at all so..
How's he an idiot if he says it didn't have any impact?
He's one of the most honest youtubers, it's why i watch him.
This probably isn't his best review, but i didn't play it yet so i'm not sure i'd agree or not. He loved the story, hated the combat and AI, but also the puzzles because of the chatter, but i also don't think he had finished the game so maybe it's the early puzzles he was talking about.
Something I noticed pretty late: there are small treasure boxes with a lock, that you can only break with certain melee items (hammer or wrench, for example). The cursor changes to red, like when you can break certain walls, and there's no other indication, and you need the item in hand. These boxes have lots of money (at least 100$), so pretty useful

Truly gone fishing.
It's a good game, but the more you play, the more you realise gameplay is kind of average
To me, it kind of feels like a watered down Dishonored (sneaking around), but without all of the interesting mechanics that can be used in different ways. And the AI is really basic. You can't kill dogs, you can only scare them over and over, but it seems like a better solution would be to let us open/close doors to block them off.
Exploration is fun, but I wonder how fun it'd be if it wasn't tied to Indiana Jones
I hope it does well (Steam sales seem to be low), but it definitely isn't setting a new standard for anything
I wouldn't say so. Spiderman, Friday the 13th, Harry Potter, Robocop etc already do an incredible job of that.
I get the excitement. But to me it's like the Indie franchise finally got the treatment it deserves, not that it's doing anything amazing. When it comes down to it, it's a video game, and games that offer a similar pathways through fictional worlds have much more going for them in terms of AI, interactions, gameplay mechanics etc.
Do you honestly think if this was new IP about some random guy, that anyone would care? Maybe I haven't hit some amazing action sequence yet, but gameplay is very tepid compared to what we had ~15-20 years ago.
No innovation, nothing groundbreaking. Just the usual systems we've seen and played before. Systems that... in this case 'just work'. Systems that, in a time of severe lack of quality titles, can actually be seen as... cool(?).
The X-factor here are: the Indy character, the setting(s), the nostalgia and... the story(?).
I've been playing this Yarr Circle for some hours out of curiosity and indeed, its main quality is the authentic tone that could easily pass for an official movie (unlike Hollypoo's outputs), props to Machinegames for keeping their past antics in check and for tastefully saving a franchise that was battered multiple times by inept goons. I only have a memberberrian memory of Indy (I liked the movies as a kid, less so now) but the direction here is competent and respects the subject matter.
The immersive sim lite aspects of the exploration and first-person body awareness/animations are always nice to have, and the id Tech cousin provides the goods without any issues that spoil the experience, however, this very much is a streamlined hybrid for the Gamecouch bros with bipolar AI that makes stealth about as compelling as Thi4f's and with cartoony combat that can't quite match the well-crafted level design, sadly. Puzzles are straightforward as well, it's...an Indy of all trades and master of none and my giggity-o-meter is stuck in the middle.
Some of those puzzles have been way too much work. Decoding encrypted messages and other annoying brain traumatizing puzzles. Most of then are fine though, just a few here and there that is too much work needed.
Very interesting video on why this game being so restrictive with its supported hardware is a good thing.
Probably a good occasion to get this guy out again after a long time of being shelved
Total nonsense. Game doesn't need raytracing at all, and I quite expect there will be a patch/mod soon that will remove it completely for massive gains in performance. Nvidia is just so strong these days that they can bribe devs into making it obligatory.

Nobody said it needed raytracing, no game "needs" raytracing as of today I guess you missed their point, basically in my own understanding about not compromising on using and taking advantage of what current hardware is capable of (as opposed to catering to 8-year old hardware).

They are already catering to ancient hardware by making it for S Series Xbox. That's a massive amount of work to get all the low res textures and getting lod details just right, so it's running well there. All I'm saying is that it was gpu manufacturers that pushed mandatory ray tracing. There's barely anything going on when Path Tracing is disabled. In Unreal engine, for example, it would take a simple switch to turn it completely off. That they haven't done that smells of collusion, and all that talk about building the game from ground up on doing raytracing is just plain bullshit.
finished the game, for me its a 9/10 even though gameplay is simple it is a very well made game and the story felt like i was watching a new movie from the old trilogy. went in with low expectations and liked it more than i thought i would, very lengthy too around maybe 30h i did most of the things. i miss these kind of adventure games like uncharted or tomb raider.
Finished the game (Focused on the story only). Faithful to the movies (Anything past the tutorial, i mean) and nice mechanics, but sometimes i got lost in towns and needed a guide
Spoiler:
Like, the last temple's entrance is right infront of you at your FEET. You just have to wait for Gina to point it out. Else you'd just be looking around the campment for collectibles etc
Some puzzles were confusing too, again, specially the last ones
8/10 but would not touch again
