I used to play the shit out of Renegade when I was a kid. It was my only C&C love ever since I don't like strategy games. So this one is some sort of remake?

Great then, hope it gets finished. The original game had some really great gore from what I remember. I also hope that will be in this remake as most games today lack proper gore with dismember and all that.

Wow didn't expect this I was addicted to renegade when it first came out, I still remember how a friend and I placed ION cannon beacon on the most absurd places to destroy a enemy building. But just checked the torrent comments for the link on demonoid, it appears this is only a short singleplayer demo with no multiplayer seeing as this will be released later :S Sabin did you complete the download, how much are there to play?

It's a short campaign mate, it's only meant as an introduction to the upcoming multiplayer version. According to their ModDB page, it's around 1-2 hours in length... so pretty disappointing considering the vast file size. Mine is almost finished, a few mins or so, but I guess it's ok to test and get to grips with the mechanics.

What a shame then. The part that I enjoyed in the old game was the singleplayer, not the multiplayer. I expected this would have a decent singleplayer part too, but 1-2 hours? Sad

Played a bit... it's ok for an alpha build or something like that I guess, but the game still has a lot of problems and the shooting feels quite dull.

Oh okay, my bad.

But just looking at that recent video it looks pretty polished for me, and i only care for the multiplayer part anyways.
And they still have some months to make things better. Still, one must decide for themselves by playing it how it is Surprised

There's no way that's going to happen. EA owns everything Command & Conquer and even just calling it "Renegade X" wouldn't be enough to save it from copyright claims.

I just hope they have some kind of cheatprotection. Seeing as it is f2p Surprised
I also hope they made some new maps? The remakes of the old version look sexy, but some news ones don't hurt Very Happy
