Game development, never change. When you see that they spent time implementing the guitar playing system, which clearly would have taken some time.. and then silly shit like having to shoot mutants with ten 12 gauge shots while their broken AI randomly disengages you and is walking away from you, and the game economy is broken because repairing guns that have attachments on them is prohibitively expensive... basic stuff.. not to mention the fact that AI is literally spawning 20 feet away from you.
Just crazy mismanagement and allocation of resources and stupid little pet projects that take precedence over the basics. It never fails to amaze me lol.
^ Nah man, it's not like that.
They at least dared to do something DIFFERENT.
Shit like enemy AI, basic gameplay / shooting, game economy and other BASIC crap can and WILL probably be fixed. This shit is the core of almost every such game and that's why eventually you will see it fixed one way or the other...
But (small) details, unique features, things that create immersion, little fun things... THESE represent the CORE of the innovation, uniqueness and creativity itself. THIS is what developers should always try to add, ALONGSIDE the all-basic-core-systems.
Not defending the shite status of the game. They either: mismanaged resources, ran out of time or simply failed at being efficient. But you can see passion and soul put in this. Even if it's a technical mess...
@blackeyedboy - Yeah, heart is there. I had a feeling that Stalker2 will be just as Stalker1 at release day. I remember it being glitchy and with poor peformance. No suprise for me.
A lot has been fixed, though still game can be glitchy AFAIK.
At least here is someing to it and there is hope to be good at some point.

Hey dont be so hard the little console eunuchs, they need time to aim their lil vibratin thumbstick.

It was - for me - one of the most memorable moments in gaming. The atmosphere was THICK there. Literally. Almost pitch black dark.
But probably they could make A LITTLE BIT more powerful the flashlight in this game.
Stalker 2's lackluster launch made me check out some Stalker 1 mods. I haven't touched the game in 14 years and I'm currently trying out Anomaly/Gamma.
It's like someone took EFT and Stalker and put them in a blender. It can be very frustrating at times but it's fun.
"I think Call of Duty resonates because it's believable and relatable," Sledgehammer Games cofounder Michael Condrey says.
Believable and relatable...Yep, sounds like Call of Duty

Ahhh those were the days. Rendez-vous at midnight with your stalker pals to go hunt a pair of rogue chimeras and then coming back alone to the base with no bandages or bullets left and a bit of bleeding status.

I can’t help but wonder that the load time after death should be quicker. Ok I’m on Xbox but it’s an SSD right? Is it because it has to load the whole map which is pretty big to be fair?

Yes probably. Loads very fast on my PC with superfast nvme m2.
Are there any recommendations / settings to increase performance.
I’m on 5800X3D & 4090 and it’s absolutely painful.
Enjoying the game, but it’s a laggy stutter fest

This one worked wonders for me and I tried the other two before but this has the biggest improvement, and the usual shit via Nvidia Settings etc. Hair to Low, Sky, Clouds Medium
Oh and turning off mouse accel, that contributes a lot to this too.

Nice. That did it for me also, i'll tweak my settings further but that MOD alone made it 100% better.
oh and i turned off that cache shit that takes 10 minutes every time, it serves no purpose. just need to edit 1 line.
At my end i get weird visual bugs and a lot of shutters if i disable that, sometimes is completely fine, your mileage may vary
Also takes about 5 min as well here on a nvme ssd
Runs to about 60fps w/o frame gen with mostly high settings 2k on 3060ti (you kinda need frame gen to be smooth all the time on this card, sadge) in towns fps goes to shit to about 30 or even less, my personal record was 4 fps
Signature/Avatar nuking: none (can be changed in your profile)
