2. Fedex: See condition one (1) above. This shall happen to your C suited motherfuckers as well as the delivery person.

Started writing what I did and didn't like about this after spending 6hrs modding it. New bodies, faces, overhauls, immersion related mods, better textures + effects. But it's beyond salvageable. The dialogue between characters in any given place is atrocious, the same for when they talk to you. I do like the world, but too much of it is the same. Combat and everything else is just as bad. What an abortion of a game
A year ago I made it my mission to make Oblivion a fun game. Took me several days to get all the mods together and then I still got bored after a few days of playing.
One of the problems are the Oblivion gates. The dragons in Skyrim you could mostly ignore but those gates make the sky turn red and annoy me to hell and back and closing them is beyond tedious. I ended up no-clipping to get it over with.
Another big problem is, as you say, the world being so monotone - they used large pre-fab bricks to build everything and it makes every castle and cave look similar. The random caves can be removed by mods which helps a great deal but it's just not enough to salvage the game - the RPG aspects are too lacking.
