Well, the game is clearly unplayable for now. We have two choices:
1. Buy the game anyway so the developer have enough funds to support the project and fix the whole thing. If that means another year...ermm...cough...ok. True Stalkers will wait. Given the circumstances they are working in, they deserve your money.
2. Don't buy the game and play for free/pirate. This will impact the sales and affect the developers and the project.
"Look guys, the truth is: we got fucked by the war / other difficulties.
Let us come out as Early Access and we'll continue together from there."

One "BRUTAL" review from Steam:
"While Xbox players happily spoil the story (and all the bugs) after they were able to play way before us, thx to preloading, we weree still trying to figure out if preloading is as mythical as a real-life chimera.
Visually, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 gives you the surreal feeling of stepping into an anomaly where nothing quite makes sense. Trees are pixelated relics of 2007, while walls leave you questioning if they’re bricks, mud, or some hybrid mutant creation spawned in a lab deep within Chernobyl. "Is this the decaying beauty of the Zone or just lazy asset design?" you’ll ask yourself as you squint into the digital abyss.
Gameplay? It’s not a game - it’s a survival horror, but not in the way the devs intended. NPCs, like stalkers caught in a gravity anomaly, glitch aimlessly in place, trying to pathfind their way through walls. Their ai is so broken it might have been programmed by a snork. Meanwhile, the bugs are more aggressive than a pack of bloodsuckers. Your gun vanishes at critical moments, textures pop in and out like ghosts, and the sky morphs into an anomaly itself, proving that even the Zone isn’t this unpredictable.
And let’s not forget: the legacy of bad launches. Cyberpunk 2077 and No Man’s Sky eventually escaped the gravitational pull of their failures, but S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 well... let's hope it's not determined to linger in the radioactive glow of disappointment. It’s as if the devs asked, "How can we make the most anomalous, masochistic launch experience imaginable?" and then said, "Let’s make it fun for no one. Literally no one."
No matter how hard you try to convince yourself that everything is "cheeki breeki," no level of radiation-or denial-can make you really believe it. Not even a bottle of good old vodka.
I cannot help but f̶e̶e̶l̶ ̶s̶o̶r̶r̶y̶ ̶f̶o̶r̶ laugh my ass off at all the fools (here included) that were hyped for this game. When will you/they learn?

Gamepass download just finished for me. Launched it, now it's unpacking 155GB?
yep... then when you actually get to fire it up... shader compilation, took me about two hours from starting the download on gamepass to actually be IN the game (this is downloading onto and loading from an NVME)

Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl developer GSC Game World has released a statement on the state of its game, as its sequel finally becomes available to play.
Stalker 2 made its debut today across Xbox and PC, but is already the subject of multiple technical issues - these issues are one of the reasons Eurogamer's own Stalker 2 review isn't on the site just yet.
Writing on social media platform X, GSC has addressed these issues and acknowledged the game "may" have some "rough edges" now that it is out in the wild. However, the studio has assured its players will address any niggles that arise in the game, as and when it is able.
"We are absolutely committed to being here, monitoring your feedback and quickly fixing any issues that need our attention," the developer wrote. "In the first few days after release, we'll be working with hotfixes, rolling them out as precisely as possible, but as frequently as we can."
Following this, GSC will release more substantial updates for Stalker 2, as well as free in-game content. More details on the game's roadmap will be shared in December, GSC said, so stay tuned.
"We have big plans for the Stalker universe. In a way, today is both a return and the beginning of a grand new journey," the team closed. "We're blessed to have you before, we're blessed to have you now. The Zone belongs to you. Have fun."
The studio recently released a documentary all about developing Stalker 2 during a particularly difficult time for GSC. The documentary - War Game: The Making of Stalker 2 - touches on the developer's history and details what it has been like to work on the forthcoming sequel during Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
Since 2022, GSC has delayed Stalker 2 several times and relocated staff to safely finish the project elsewhere, while others have joined Ukraine's armed forces, and dealt with Russian hackers who leaked test builds.

uh why? Game is great, as expected, reviews pretty much says the same. your loss.
looks amazing and plays great.
i do hate the fucking mutants though, my impression so far is they're more irritating than in the first game. but they're of course supposed to be hard and it's an unforgiving game
