So are the clear sky and pripriat or whatever the fuck that slav word is worth playing? I read so much mixed stuff about both. Boring, linear, open, empty, not so good storywise.
Sounds to me like it's just more stalker for those who enjoyed it, but doesn't really sounds important enough to play before heading into stalker 2.
Call of Pripyat should have just words of reverence online. It's a phenomenal piece of gamedesign. They finally hit most of the stuff they wanted since 2001 and struck a nice balance of the stuff that wasnt optimal in the first or second games. How the economy works, day night cycle, artifacts, upgrades, side missions, main missions, etc.
Throughout the years, the stuff you read online complaining about "modern" games, most of the times i would think call of pripyat solved it back then. Throw some weapon mods on it, atmosfear. You should play it because its one of the best games that exists in the medium, not because of story reasons or other nonsense related to a sequel.
Well exactly. More stalker for those who love it. Well i might play it, but if it isn't "needed" for Stalker 2 then i won't pressure myself to play it before 2 is released.

Not sure I agree with the economy part, the non-marked stashes that are to this day burned into my brain sort of give you a running start at the game if you know the locations or find them through exploration (I can't remember if you can actually sell weapons but I think you can?).
Agree about the rest BUT all three maps still have horrible horrible performance, object/npc loading and draw distance issues that still persist to this day.
Even mods with xray64 still stutter in some places (draw distance is mostly solved) on those maps, however I've read a rumour that the insane modders might be working in somehow adding multi-threading to xray64, which would probably solve those issues for good.

I'm glad they seem focused on just doing the original experience, but hopefully, better. No extra fluff, and i don't care, don't want it. I'd be pissed if it had base building.
I hope it releases early on Wednesday and not in the evening..
What time is it coming out in the UK ? I pre-ordered it from CDKeys. I've even upgrade my monitor from an Alienware 34" to the Corsair Flex 45" for this bad boy but looking at the specs for the full eyecandy experience, new mobo, cpu and a trip to NASA to borrow some memory I think will be required... 64GB

64GB? thought it was 32GB recommended.
I saw on several sites that 64GB was required. I nearly fell on the floor reading it. Just been looking around and it would seem it may have been a mistake. 32GB is now being reported.

Bought. Rarely, if ever, do i pre-order. i'll play it day 1, something i also never do. I'm just too curious and excited about it.
same here. One of the rare cases I'm glad to support the devs even if there may be some QA and performance optimizations missing on initial release. The game seems to have character, they appear to stay faithful in spirit to the originals.
Plus the dev team has had to endure enough crap due to Z warmongers, they deserve all support they can have.
