It started with a 4 but ended with a solid 5.9/10
Breaking the 4th wall right from the start ruined any sense of story arc, but it got better til the end which was a good surprise for a change. Some good jokes here and there and it looked like the actors were having fun for a change.

So boring. The jokes were really off, the "story" was a mess and I simply didn't like it.

Average 'horror' movie. All drama happens in the last half hour. Meh. Btw, this character, Ben Dalton (Scoot McNairy) was so annoying.

Remake of the Danish Speak no Evil (2022) - that film was infuriating to watch, especially the ending Laughing

I must admit that I didn't know about the danish original version. If the plot is same then it's not worth watching.

Salem's Lot (2024) - 5/10

It's just a generic vampire movie. Just randoms vs random vampires, serviceable - there's really nothing standing out.

Joker 2 (aka Joker: Folie à Deux) - 8/10

I actually really liked the movie, with maybe 2 fewer songs it would have been better because they broke the pacing a bit.

I definitely didn't see the sequel shitting on the first movie or the audience of the first movie. If anything, I don't know what people expected from a sequel to the first Joker, where he/Arthur Fleck is just a pathetic man down on his luck, failed by the system and those close to him. He's not a menacing or an imposing figure.

This is not a Joker in a Batman universe, this is a Joker from the first Joker.

Deadpool & Wolverine - Longlegs/10

It's a new level of measurement that efficiently replaces the 0-4 range whilst giving a good idea of the amount of quality one's going to find.

Rebel Ridge - 6/10

The movie somehow managed to go from very promising to serviceable to Metal Gear Commando to nothing to see here folks, which is an achievement in its own way. Still a reasonably decent watch as long as expectations are kept low.

Strange Darling - 7,5/10

After acknowledging the recommended approach here (go with the flow and turn off the brain) I enjoyed the over-the-top encounters, Willa's dramatic acting and the inspired visuals reminiscent of vintage flicks with more than a sprinkle of Tarantino. The campiness of its dialogues felt intentional, giving the movie some nice anti#metoo vibes Cool Face

Megalomani-errrr, megalopolis - 7/10

Yep, wasn't abysmal. Even bad. It was a nice film with some weird visual ideas (which worked more often than not) and some very welcomed originality. Me & my missus can't understand the hate. Plot wasn't original at all, but execution, music, photography and acting were above 90% of today's cinema. A welcomed surprise. Shame that it flopped, watching it on the theatre is quite the experience.

Quest for Fire - 8/10
They don't do these anymore.

The Radleys - 4.5/10
It's a drama disguise as a vampire movie about falling into addiction and dragging along whole family with you. Slow burn and not really compelling.

Harry Potter 'octology' Very Happy +/- 8/10
The latter 2, The Deadly Hallows are the weakest (especially part 1, part 2 was better than I remembered). I never cared much for the universe, but, just as with the game, they're all just very well made and fun movies.

Saturday Night Fever 7/10
Travolta's dance solo is still one of the coolest scenes in movie history Very Happy

My Cousin Vinny 8/10
Great comedy, Marisa Tomei is J Browman

Gremlins I & II 7.5/10
Apart from a few minor scenes (and the weird opening scene in the first movie), they haven't aged much.

Lord of the Rings trilogy 9.5/10
Still the greatest trilogy of all times.

Salem's Lot 6.5/10
Not bad, but nothing new. It was probably more original in the 70s when the book came out.

Deadpool & Wolverine 7/10
Most of the inside jokes probably went over my head, but I like the humor of these movies. Hugh Jackman gave absolutely everything, and him playing it completely straight was a fun contrast to the Reynolds-show.

Snowpiercer (final season) 6/10
It picks up a bit after 2 episodes, when Sean Bean returns, and at least the show has a proper ending. But it should have ended last season.

There must have been a door there in the wall, when I came in.
Truly gone fishing.

Gräns 6/10. I want to rate it higher because it's such a cool idea and i did not figure it out from the start either. But I didn't think it was atmospheric or unsettling enough (though it had its moments), something was absolutely missing there, nowhere near as good as Let the Right One In.
Worth a watch for something quite weird.

Dream Scenario 7/10. Solid, Cage was good, not his best role but quite good. Weirdly funny at times, which ofc is a great match for Cage Laughing

The Substance - 7/10

Vibrant directing/editing style and very effective acting by the two leads (couldn't help but ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) at the Substance'd one), it's an absolutely ridiculous ride in every possible way that can only be enjoyed without asking questions or trying to involve any logic in the yellow equation. At some point, the movie simply embraces the zero_fucks_given_mode=1 + sv_gravity=0 comical way of progressing, which is the highlight for many but didn't quite work for me. Still, I appreciated the symbolisms whilst a tit was being coughed up from my third mouth.

Alien Romulus - ̶4̶.̶0̶ Longlegs/10

I should have listened to my own inner self and steered away from the Weyland-Derpani HodgepodGenZ powered by rancid berries, but curiosity once again killed the poor hugger. It's like the cinema equivalent of Kenny McCormick.

 Spoiler:

Shitposting aside, synth dood's acting was excellent both in kid and cold killer modes and IMO the best part of the movie. Womanlet was ok, rest of the cast adequate enough.
The first part with the exploration of the abandoned ship was the best about the movie. All the memberberries, especially after that the worst part of it.

EDIT: dafuq, I swear I didn't copy this from the RLM review, that I'm watching right now Laughing

Yeah, that last part with il monstruo is just too on the nose (or face tits), but everything else was very good. There also could have been some attempt at diplomacy, I'll just say that Razz
