I just hope modding will be almost the same or better as on Call of Pripyat.

We know the UI is consolised (fucked).
It remains to be seen what else they decided to... 'streamline' in the game...

Oh man, these reviews: "intense game", "unforgiving", "guns can feel unreliable", "you must pick your fights", "bleak", "atmospheric", "it's not for everybody", "it can be depressing"...
Music to my ears
Spoiler: |
No talk about bugs and performance issues makes me suspicious, though

From the eurosocjus preview:
Quote: | The surprises didn't end here either. I agreed to help Squint by retrieving the artefact, and descended into a cave system for a fraught encounter with a bloodsucker – a tentacle-faced mutant that can turn invisible. But after defeating the creature and retrieving the artefact, I received a "mission failed" notification. Excuse me, Stalker 2, but don't you mean "mission succeeded"? I soon found out the game was in the right, as upon returning to Squint’s hidey-hole, I discovered that he was dead.
I'm still not entirely clear what happened, whether a mutant or bandit had rocked up and killed him, whether Squint had accidentally triggered one of the many traps he'd set up to defend himself from such an ambush, or whether this was a good old fashioned bug. I asked the developer supervising the session if this was supposed to happen, to which he shrugged, explaining that Squint was not a particularly important character. This much certainly proved true. Despite "failing" to help Squint, the story continued unhindered, and I got to sell the artefact I found for a nice cash bonus. |

It's not a bug, it's A-Life should be part of the marketing campaign
Fingers crossed for a technically presentable and fully moddable beast, including all the various UE-related shenanigans. At this point I've been crossing fingers for so long I've turned into a human fusillo.

Hate to be *that* guy but:
Quote: | An expansion pack, expansion set, supplement, or simply expansion, is an addition to an existing role-playing game, tabletop game, video game, collectible card game or miniature wargame. These add-ons usually add new game areas, weapons, objects, characters, adventures or an extended storyline to an already-released game. |
Now, mods *do* absolutely fit that description, but' I've never saw anyone calling Anomaly, OP-2.2, Lost Oblivion, Gold Sphere, etc an expansion pack for STALKER

i guess you could easily assume they're expansion packs due to their naming and because only now we get a STALKER 2 and not a STALKER 4.
