just boring game, same as with avatar,, the world can look good but gameplay is just so basic and characters so bland that just not worth the time these days, the speed bike sounds nice though but its hard to get excited to explore a world so boring
Bought it on cdkeys to play with my kid, it's quite what we expected. Don't see where all the hatred is coming from; it's no RDR2, but it's much more interesting than that Jedi Survivor series, IMHO.
In a vacuum the hate is mostly people being influenced by others. I don't see how this is so much worse than the regular ubisoft/star wars slop these days either. But i cant seem to fibd any time ro give a shit about the game either

You asked.
Dunno maybe its because Ubisoft claims that they are making AAAA (Quadruple A games) and charge 70 dollars/euros and if you want the edition with season pass its 110 eur/dollars and claim the game deserves it since it's higher quality compared to other games.
Then after they fuck up royaly they claim that a "solid" game isnt enough anymore for gamers.
Even though the game has issues. It's just mediorce.

It is expensive, but I guess they spent a lot on development and they promised a lot of return to the shareholders (using the recent Sony debacle as an estimate of how much an expensive game developed in the West costs these days). Hence why I bought it on cdkeys to save some money.
And, yes, it does have its issues, but to be fair so does pretty much any other open world game. Since this is the only game like that in Star Wars universe and the main character is thankfully not a Jedi, I find it a mostly enjoyable experience to share with my daughter (so, the female character is actually a plus here) even though it can be frustrating at times. I'd give it an overly generous 7/10 so far, given that it doesn't have any competition offering a similar SW experience (Jedi Survivor is more like some Uncharted clone wrapped in SW universe; I've never played Uncharted, but the Jedi game is like 90% of navigating obstacles and environmental puzzles and fighting off some alien animals and only 10% of SW experience - i.e. fighting some enemies which are from the SW lore; the sequel is much better in regards to that ratio, though, but I got stuck at some boss fight and the game is still too much of a console action game for me to suffer through). Outlaws on the other hand, I'd probably play through even on my own, though I can't say if it's worth at the full price given that I'm only at like 10% of it presumably.
My point is simply that the game is not what it could or even should have been, but it's not an unplayable mess as it often gets represented as and thus shunned.
Given the pretty much universal negative vibe here, just wanted to post that it can actually be playable for those who can get through an open world game (with some unavoidable grind or frustration getting around) if they enjoy the story or simply the IP it's centered around.
If you like it and it's your thing more power to you.
It's ofc not the worst game of the year but everything adds upand people get frustrated.
Ubisoft rehashing game mechanics for the last two decades acting like they deserve more money (calling it AAAA game) and then have the audacity to call players out is ridiclous. Ofc ppl will shit on it then. And the cherry on top: The SW licence was given out to ubi because EA was bad at making a good SW game (battlefront 1-2 (not the classic ones)) adn this is the result a game you enjoy but give a generous 7.
Games are hard to develop but there are positive examples out there as well that did a much better job and didnt charge 110 dollars/euros for a game with a season pass.
Anwyas as i saidif you enjoy it good for you but Ubi keeps shitting the bed with maybe once beloved franchises adn this is a cherry on top.
this game definitely didn't deserve the hate it got. with a couple of patches getting rid of the most annoying shit this might even be considered "decent"
guess ppl are just (finally) fed up w the Ubi formula and also came in with skyhigh expectations
if they follow through w this roadmap and don't fuck it up (again) i might pick this up again come November
I don't know man. I've never played this, nor do I ever intend to, but everything I've seen of this game puts it in Gollum levels of awfulness. And I've watched people play it live, not just memes. So I have no idea what game some people have been playing to think this is decent.
but fuck if i care about the official price. who (in their right mind) buys games for what is it 70 bucks these days anyway... and since you got your activation for free as well i supposed you know what i mean
i just don't see this being much better/worse than any asscreed game recently. and those haven't been getting so much shit iirc
i think many people pay full price, with consoles there are no such low prices that u can get on pc.
all of their games recently went to shit, probably not worse than wat they did so far but how many mediocre and same type of game can u milk before people starting to notice? which is why i couldnt play more than 2h of this even if free, in a month between wukong, space marines 2 and ragnarok...
its good for companies to have a big wakeup moment, all that ac backlash from syndicate and unity made them rethink ac and origins was good
as you say this is an UBI soft game through and through, no surprises. hell, i cannot remember the last time i played one of their game and was like "WOW, this is great!" -- but on the other hand if you haven't played any of their games for a while i still think they're mostly tolerable and not like "worst.game.ever."
with this one there's just too much annoying shit in its current state, so i'll give it another shot come November before completely ditching it.
and lastly, i agree, it is probably a good thing that ppl are fed up with the formula. You can see this in their stock value plummeting as well. so for ubi it's going to be: either innovate or get fucked... and looking at the shitstorm around the next asscreed i am not optimistic
i dont think they will fix anything by november, but even after they fix the technical bugs u cant fix the boring game even if u havent played a ubisoft title for long idk if its any better, the last open world ubisoft title i played was avatar and mirage that was 1 year ago that i also abandoned after 2h cuz same mediocrity so after that time still couldnt get into outlaws
Signature/Avatar nuking: none (can be changed in your profile)
