It's been like this for over a decade, stupid people can't seperate words from the intent. So we have this stupidity which in reality exacerbates the real problems because people hate this shit.
As a customer you just paid for that work, and now you probably have to spend a week refactoring projects to be PC..

It also spreads hate. Some retards would blame lgbtqi pink haired devs for these changes (happens here all the time). In reality a lot of these people think it's just as stupid. These woke idiots really do just promote hatred they just don't understand how.
I don't know about that, there might be a few, but nah. It's not really any different than when Marvel or DC decided to go woke and they kicked any employe they knew or even suspected was a Trump voter, anyone who wasn't leftist enough. If you think the employees stood up for their friends who they had worked with for maybe 15+ years, pfft, they didn't give a shit and just cheered on and they still do. There's been a war between the people who where kicked out and the woke shitheads which are still employed ever since.
I bet there could be a few devs who really aren't very woke at all and instead just cope. But these companies are more and more political and they make sure the people they hire are in on the woke-train. They'll absolutely research your internet history before they hire you to make sure you never endorsed Trump or said anything they don't agree with.
Ohh for sure they're fanning the fire just to root out the "white sexist men" or whatever. It's not for so reason this stuff starts appearing so late in stories and not from the very beginning.
Even in azure devops when you create a new project the ”master branch” is automatically named ”’main”. I fucking hate that. I always rename it back to ”master” to match all other older projects.
Racial, ethnic, and religious inclusiveness
- Do not use metaphors or similes that reinforce stereotypes. Examples include contrast black and white or blacklist and whitelist.
- Do not use words that refer to historical trauma or lived experience of discrimination. Examples include slave, master, and nuke.
Gender inclusiveness
- Refer to hypothetical people as they, them, and their, even in the singular.
- Refer to anything that is not a person as it and its. For example, a module, plugin, function, client, server, or any other software or hardware component.
- Do not assign a gender to anything that doesn't have one.
- Do not use collective nouns like guys that assume gender.
- Avoid colloquial phrases that contain arbitrary genders, like "a poor man's X".
Slang
- Remember that your words are being read by a global audience that may not share the same idioms and attitudes, and who might not understand the same cultural references.
- Avoid slang and colloquialisms, even if you think they are funny or harmless. These may be hard to understand for people whose first language is not English, and might not translate well.
- Do not use profanity.
Overloaded Words
Many terms that we use for their technical meanings also have other meanings outside of technology. Examples include abort, execute, or native. When you use words like these, always be precise and examine the context in which they appear.
Fucking ridiculous.
"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."
Saw this and brought it up to my kids, even they think this is stupid.
Son is 'meh' woke.. I guess at least by the meter used here on the Humps. hes not, but he will call people the names they want to be and openly accept, for example, Randy is now Roxy (one of our mutual friends and TTRPG members) and prefers 'her' to 'him' and goes with it. More just out of respect to a friend, than wanting to draw a moral line in the sand, battle to have type thing.
Now my daughter would be stage 5 terminal wokeness on it using hump metrics (when on the grand reality scheme, maybe a 6 out of 10)
And the best she could think of when asked: Can you think of even a hypothetical defense/reasoning for this?
Was: Not really, I guess...maybe to accommodate for more of the LGBTQ coders being able to feel less passive 'old school' mindset terminology and lexicon of coding that forgot they exist. But even that makes me feel nazi-ish to defend demanding. (paraphrasing, as if you think I talk a LOT, talk to her about something of a subject shes into...lol)
But that's what it is isn't it? It's kids and middle aged people who want to fit in with kids alienating everyone 35+
This is actually a move that should have the people enforcing hung. It's a very manipulative move to make developers more LBTQGSAQQVV+-/* from exposure when coding.

Eh at least main has some "credibility", with good ol' void main() or just main(), but maybe "master" makes more sense in the context of azure.

Bethesdas greatest strength is their engine, their games are only good because of mods. Without them, i couldn't care less, and they are very aware of this, it's why they continue to use it, they know the mods is a great strength. Also, having 1000+ people learn a new engine won't come cheap + takes tons of additional time.
and yes, with NPC's and their schedules, enemies, day night and weather cycles, physics, various other systems that has to be in place... that demo would run in like 5 FPS, and especially if Bethesda made it
Kinda why we never see any world simulation games on UE, it's amazing for environmental detail, good enough for faces depending the artists' skills but must be quite troublesome to have all those NPC scripst running as well.
But I am no pro just an amateur's two cents. Starfield did not have NPC schedules in large areas like the main city and most other "large" areas, and it ran like ass. I think I only found literally 1 tiny mining planet they bothered to have that in.
I bet... they very likely dropped it or removed it because its also supposed to work on consoles.
At this point UbiSoft games are just as good or better. In fact Origins (and Odyssey i believe as well) is quite well done here, guards that takes breaks, they have their specific place to sleep, guards that will move dead bodies to a specific place, where they will be collected. They thought of these details.
I do have a feeling that they peaked with those games though :/ imo Bethesda peaked with Oblivion.
lol I loved oblivion with all its hilarious jank far better than skyrim. Which I found to be very unpopular opinion. It was cutting edge for its time and barely ran on my cobbled together teenage hobo's gaming PC.
I just found the side quests far more interestings and the greenery of the world far more compelling than skyrim's dreary snow deserts and literally 1 dialogue choice options in most quests.
Skyblivion will probably be out next year, best of both worlds
And since it's not worked on by the colossal retards at bethesda it has a real chance to turn out great.

yep, that could be cool, still, it will not compete with a heavily modded Oblivion perhaps due to how many years of mods that game has, some very big and complex ones. Graphically it will look way better + people will expand upon it too.
