i dont think it was part of anything, they just didnt know what the fuck they were doing. Since the main porting team was 4 guys for the first game, if you don't play much on PC, with m/kb, you won't know how stuff should play and feel and so on. Using raw input is an API you have to activelly implement, so those 4 guys only did it after launch when complaints came. They likely didnt even know something's wrong, and they probably play mostly with pads.
One of the bosses from santa monica was saying how unusual the game felt for him with m/kb after being only on consoles for so long and how it became his prefered way of playing. All the while having negative acceleration and not feeling good at all. Seems its very easy to miss simple stuff like this when you're focusing on everything else and you dont even know too much about it

it's not doing great numbers, about the same as FF16. 22k
Mouse seems to work fine, but for some reason they have separate values for horizontal and vertical sensitivity and they don't match. Why would you have something like that ? I am using 6/10 for horizontal speed and 8/10 for vertical. Somewhat similar speeds, but not 1:1 the same. I think Uncharted 4 was initially like this, at launch

It’s due to gamepad analog values I think.

Fucking console port.
No FOV slider.
No toggle walk M/Kb.
Sensitivity X/Y ratio is fucked (yea, I know about the settings).
Huge buttons in menu.
Shared functions on keys / buttons.
Yeah... fuck off.

If there would be fov slider, game would be too easy, they have made it that you cant see shit around you, enemies are constantly cheap shotting you from back.

There's a Dodi repack out, reducing size to 69GB:
God of War: Ragnarok - Digital Deluxe Edition (All DLCs + Bonus Content + 6 GB VRam Fix + MULTi22)
What's that 6GB VRAM fix? A 0-day patch?
There must have been a door there in the wall, when I came in.
Truly gone fishing.

go C:\users\your name\Saved Games\God of War Ragnarock\
delete userpreferences. You're gonna have to readjust m/kb, gameplay settings again

My framerate plummets to near single digits for some reason when entering the Bifrost - other areas in the open world it's just fine. Not sure if it's because the game is loading stuff while in there, or if there's a particular graphical effect in there my card can't handle.

Just saw that now, I'll give it a go.
Edit - Yep, changing the Tesselation setting from High to Medium fixed the massive FPS drop when traversing the Bifrost area. Thank you!

Does framegeneration work in combination with dlss? Saw it mentioned somewhere this is bugged.

FSR framegen works. DLSS framegen doesn't. You can use FSR framegen with DLSS scaling IIRC.

https://www.eurogamer.net/god-of-war-ragnarok-pc-mod-removes-sonys-controversial-psn-linking-requirement
Quote: | If you are keen to play God of War Ragnarök on PC, but have been put off by Sony's PSN linking requirement, there is now a mod that will sort that out for you.
Nexus mods user iArtorias actually created the mod to strip "the PlayStation PC SDK runtime requirement for God of War Ragnarök", however it can also be used to negate PSN linking. The mod - known as NoPSSDK - removes the PSN overlay, which allows players to bypass linking their Steam account to a PlayStation network account (thanks, PC Gamer).
iArtorias said they created the mod as there are "a number of people that encountered various unexpected errors and issues, e.g. a sudden error message popup and more" when playing God of War Ragnarök on PC.
"This library attempts to resolve all the possible issues related to the PlayStation PC SDK," iArtorias explained. The creator added the mod doesn't make any changes to the original game code, and "is NOT intended to encourage the piracy".
The mod currently has 1764 total downloads.
Soon after its PC debut, God of War Ragnarök received a number of negative Steam reviews. Many of these reviews were taking aim at Sony's controversial requirement for PC users to link to a PSN account. As Vikki reported at the weekend, others also left negative reviews due to the "state of the game", reporting issues such as crashes and visual bugs.
While at that time, God of War Ragnarök was sitting with a "mixed" review average, the PC version of the game is now currently up to a "mostly positive" average on Steam.
For more on God of War Ragnarök's PC release, Digital Foundry's Alex Battaglia recently spoke to Matt DeWald, lead producer at original developer Sony Santa Monica, and Steve Tolin, technical director of PC port developer Jetpack Interactive. |
