Angel Heart: 7/10. A bit too predictable, but at least Mickey still had a face.
Cape Fear: 8/10. Nice and well acted.
Kelly's Heroes: 8.5/10. Acting was a bit typical 70s, but overall a very nice WW2ish movie.
Furiosa 6/10. I don't think the entire movie is shit, the first hour isn't very good though. Luckily it picks up later on and there are some decent scenes.

Furiosa 7 / 10

Worse than Mad Max: Fury Road(that one 9 / 10 for me) but still very fun, cool costumes. It's like Fury Road + Mad Max 3 Very Happy The worse part is bad to absolute shite CGI and very obvious pavilion filming Sad

The Book of Eli: 6/10. Would've been better if wasn't about the bible, but he had something other useful instead.

The Maze Runner: 7/10. Cool concept.
Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials: 6/10. Hit and miss. CGI was much better than the first.
Maze Runner: The Death Cure: 6.5/10.
As usual with YA you have to fast forward some bits, but it was quite decent nonetheless.

IF 4/10
Can predict the main plot points right off the bat. Ryan Reynolds starring as Ryan Reynolds again. Even for a kids movie, the visuals were very uninspired and the script was bad. Not sure how John Krasinski keeps getting money Laughing

1 and 2 are still amazing.

Kong Godzilla New whatever - 3/10
My cat was more interested in watching it than I and my wife. But it fall asleep anytime humans were on screen. So atleast with that the critics were right. 3 points because of the scene where Kong uses child monkey as a weapon.

Longlegs - 5.5/10

This movie is a masterclass in marketing department with PhD in hype.

Why Oz Perkins is so highly prised I don't know. Yes, I liked his Hansel and Gretel interpretation, it was great visually. I have seen one more of his movies - The Blackcoat's Daughter. Longlegs is very similar tonally to that movie.

Mind you the review is subjective.

Longlegs is overhyped, with heavy handed script and some questionable decisions that might be executive meddling. Maybe Perkings wanted to make different movie but A24 decided otherwise.

We are lead to believe that the movie will be tense, visceral experience but only thing that works torwards this is visual tone with muddy colors and clouded, sunless enviroments. The plot is heavy handed, many scenes and character moments go nowhere. Early in the movie we are lead to believe that Lee Harker is psychic - this is dropped, it probably would work if was properly developed. Unfortunately at around 30 minutes mark we are dropped with a heavy hint that Longlegs knows the main character. If a viewer has a half a brain he will probably by this point get the twist but don't threat if he doesn't the movie will explain everything in the last 15 minutes.

The movie isn't really scary nor tense. There is no real investigation, someone called Longlegs is killing families, well maybe killing - he leaves a note on murder suicide crime scenes but there is no forced entry. And it's always a murder suicide. The note is written in gibberish code. And I don't want to spoil anything but if you think there will be some mystery or code breaking - don't - there is no subtlety to the script.

Longlegs character isn't much on the screen, maybe a couple of minutes max. He is interesting looking but he isn't scary or anything and might balance on the thin line of being funny. Cage is doing his cagism, acts unhinged, screams, sings - the regular MO. He is well utilized, a good performance but he isn't really well written or develop character. It's like be weird, satanic - period.

And there's the last act where everything for me falls flat - from the expository explanation of the plot when you could guess it not even half way in the movie. To some weird shots - like a scene on a debrifing when one of agents pauses a recording of Longlegs interrogation on particular facial expresion. And the whole shot/scene composition is borderline funny. From this point on there's a couple more shots like this.

The premise was ok, really it could've been great but then someone wrote the script - and by someone I mean Oz Perkins - and couldn't deliver. It's just heavy handed and feels meh.

There's angryjoe's review. He gave the movie 7/10 and then goes into spoilers and when going into particular scenes he tries to explain to himself the nonsense of some things happening on screen but can't. It's funny when he kind-a like the movie.

The Shining: 8.5/10. Pitty about Shelley's acting, but very nice.
Serpico: 8/10, good one.
Good Morning, Vietnam: 7/10.
The Sand Pebbles: 6/10, too long and not a whole lot of story to go on, last 30 mins or so was best as at least the plot moved a bit.
The Biggest Little Farm + The Biggest Little Farm: The Return: 5/10. This should've been a TV show (way too much cut) and they should've used a proper narrator.

Mad Maxina - /10

Better than the trailers suggested, but nowhere near as convincing as a movie of this calibre should be. It's not too different from Fury Road apart from the slower pacing and the fact that it attempts to build up actual character development this time around - only the tone is even more over-the-holly-top with considerably worse special effects, cartoon-like physics and extra-spazzy editing, an awkward general sense of time/space, and the suspense is mostly lacking on account of the viewer already knowing that the ®evenge story has a predetermined outcome with specific plot armours in full force.

Society of the Snow - 7,5/10

Don't let the Netflix logo throw you off, this is a competent production with believable acting and directing that manages to convey the brutality of the event where things just keep getting worse and worse and worse. I knew the story already so there was little surprise, but the movie is solid and accurate overall.

Deadpool and Wolverine - 4/10

What a fucking brainrot. A fanfic fanservice movie written by 12 year old. I had a laugh here and there but boy, that some z-grade script there. Also my friend who doesn't watch the tv series and half the movies didn't know what the fuck half the things were.

Easy Rider: 5/10. Meh.
Good Will Hunting: 8.5/10.
The Silence of the Lambs: 9/10. Really in it's own fucked up league.

Red Dragon: 7.5/10. Nice cast and well acted.
Manhunter: 6/10. Same story as Red Dragon, well directed, but cast isn't on the Red Dragon level. Not sold on Cox' Lecter.

I, for one, couldn't even finish Hannibal TV show. It was very stylish, indeed, but suspension of disbelief requirement was just too high. All those Hannibal's artistic meticulous murder presentations, that should have taken him many days to plan and to implement, and there were no witnesses practically ever.
Essentially one should assume that it was happening in a weird parallel universe which favoured outstanding murderers.

Despicable Me 4: 6/10. Serviceable, plot didn't went anywhere really, Minions still the best part.
Rocky: 9 out of 10 bums. Better than Raging Bull.
Rocky II: 8/10. Very nice fight at the end, the rest of the movie was not as interesting as the first.

Furiosa: An action flick for when there isn't anything else to watch (that does not require a brain)/10
I also dislike prequels

The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare: Not good enough to pass of an action flick for when there isn't anything else to watch/10 Don't know how it ended (its that bad)

Appaloosa (2008) 6.5/10
Ed Harris Western, Good but not great. Bad pacing. The characters did what they were supposed to without any build up. No surprises apart from the lead female character which was the most interesting part.

Furiosa—3/10

Really dumb plot, with some terrible CGI (look at the mom jumping on the horse back at the beginning; it looked better in 2003 when CGI Legolas did it Laughing). Not that Fury Road had a genius script, but something there worked, perhaps on a visceral level, that is totally missed here. The Hemsworths need to go away for a decade.

Twisters—6.5/10

Dumb, but somehow works. Glen Powell is an enigma, he looks so dumb and unbelievable in any role he plays, yet it somehow works. Laughing

Possum (2018) - 8/10
A British psychological horror film. The acting is eerily realistic by Sean Harris. Not sure what to make of the ending even after reading about it since people have different interpretations.

Caveat (2020) - 7/10
Very unnerving Irish horror film with some really creepy sound design. Loved the end and makes you question things about it.

1 and 2 are still amazing.

Furiosa 8/10: I liked it. I was someone that really didn't like Fury Road, I thought the slow pacing and better zany character development made it more enjoyable. I thought Chris Hemsworth was good in this but can understand the fatigue (yet I don't watch any superhero garbage so maybe he's not as annoying for me).

Night Swim 7/10: A PG very dumb synopsis horror movie about an evil pool Laughing . I thought it would be a snoozefest but it kind of suprised. On par or better than a James Wan horror movie.
