It's a weird world we live in my friend. Just had to beat some sense into gfs younger brother (11 or something) about not buying a fancy shiny "gaming keyboard" and some equally stupid mouse just cause he thinks they look cool and cost a lot...
i never understood the appeal of twitch (same goes for most youtubers, aside from a few playing games like hearthstone or AW which are both informative and enjoyable to watch).
the main reason i've always liked playing games much more than watching TV is well...you do it yourself. it involves your brain, your decisions, your fails, your awesome moments. twitch takes all of this away and replaces it with some unbearable fucktard like pewdiepie or even worse, guys like the one above.
i remember talking to a bunch of friends about it a while ago back then when the south park ep about twitch/pewdiepie came out (if you haven't wtached it, do it now, it's awesome) and the general consensus was that, since mostly youngsters watch it, it may be a case of missing an older brother/father (which is quite often the case in this generation) or somebody to look up to. just being shit at gaming, games being too expensive, or simply watching a chick playing with her tits almost popping out are of course also factors.
litle anecdote: back then when i was around 15 in 2000, i used to look after a ~10 year old kid from the neighbours - which i not only got paid for, but since his parents had a lot of money (but of course no time for him), i ended up writing shopping lists with pc and n64 games (especially the latter ones were hugely expensive then, i remember forsaken and turok going for around the equivalent of 100€) for him to get. or rather, to cry to his parents that he wants them all.
which basically resulted in me getting batches of new games delivered to my room as well getting around 10€/hour to play them in front of him. the little dude enjoyed the hell out of it, only thing that was missing was him jumping around behind me with pom poms.
TL;DR: i was a twitch content creator before it was cool. heck, even before i had internet at home.

those chairs and peripherals are fucking terrible as well. Made absolutely dirt cheap with shit plywood, foam, and fake leather that peels off in 12 months. The headphones are crap too, you get the microphone and audio all-in-one cheap unit which is okay, but im tipping the cables and solder fray in less than 12 months.. oh well guess you can by the next Derp StReaMeR LoOtbag.

Yep, pretty mindblowing. Rogaine is extremely close, some of the others like tyler1 are slightly poorer, video-wise but the audio and talking, huh, mannerisms are pretty close
